I wonder if any of you have experienced this. I’ve lost 36 pounds, which isn’t substantial, but it’s a noticeable amount. Has anyone had a certain person say comments like, “Oh, you’ve stopped losing weight!” Or when your pants are sagging in your butt, “You just stretched them out from wearing them!” I know it’s no big deal, but it’s like the person is just being intentionally condescending and rude. I wonder if it’s just me being sensitive?

your weight loss has been so positive you work so hard you deserve respect next time they say something I would have a talk with them you deserve to be happy you have worked hard

No, those are plain rude comments. Hopefully this is just a co-worker or casual acquaintance, and not someone who lives with you. I've gotten comments that I look too thin, but these are coming from fat people who are ashamed of their own obesity and inability (or lack of desire) to diet effectively. Try to just avoid the rude ones and don't comment about your diet to them, as they will just defend their own food choices by putting you down.

just my 2 cent. really cent and a half. people justify their own lack of discipline by making these rude remarks. like when I started dating my wife we were waiting until we were married to have sex. my mother in law told my wife you may as well just put out now because that's what u always do. truth is that's what my .other in law did too. so if someone else breaks a barrier they feel guilty subconsciously. it's really just misery loving company and trying to pull u down to their level to lift themselves. hope this helps. keep crushing it. Myles Munroe said the fastest way to shut your critics up is just succeed.

36 pounds IS substantial!! Don't let the insecurity of someone else who is feeling uncomfortable with your success derail you. It's a them problem, not a you problem. good luck!

I think your weight loss is substantial, too. I lost less than you and everyone that has commented has been positive. This person either has their own issues or is just clueless. It's hard when someone in your circle isn't supportive. Remember, you're doing this for you...hold your head up...be proud of yourself....and keep on making progress ❤

Why should you even care what they say. This is your journey and you don’t have to explain anything to anyone. Don’t allow people to back you into a corner where you feel you have to explain anything.

The guys above said it right, those ugly remarks come from their own insecurities, as with all the bullies. Also, I recently heard and remembered that our social circle isn't always positive to our change, quite the opposite is mostly true.In fact,it would be more convenient to them if we stayed just as we are. Of course you are being sensitive too sweetheart, because it's a matter that has caused you pain in many ways and aspects of your life. Try to ignore those, random or not, uncomprehensive people, and you will see that gradually along with your progress their bitterness will turn to silence. Your best shield can be to secretely pray for them in a way, understand them, giving the right to yourself to heal too. keep up the good work,God bless

you could ask why they stopped learning and suddenly got noticeably more stupid??? don't do that, but think about it every time they talk out of their butt.

im sorry you have to deal with insensitive jerks. i don't think you're being overly sensitive but i don't know how to help out with that. my comment is mainly to let you know that i have lost 30 lbs so far and have a long way to go to be healthy. i do know that some of my clothes fit looser now i just don't see a big difference yet in the mirror. so the other day i picked up a 30 lb bag of dog food and could barely lift it! i got a good grip on it and started to walk i was shocked that before i was actually carrying around that much weight! its a big deal! it really put it in perspective for me. so dont feel like it's not much because it is. next time you're shopping try it, you'll see 😉

Katsolo, I would totally make that kind of remark these days. I used to think things like that when people made stupid, clearly insensitive or just rude remarks but not say it, now I don't care whether people think I'm mean, I'll just say something like, "Here's the deal: I won't comment on your intelligence if you don't comment on my body."

It's usually dumb people who make those remarks anyway, because they have no self-awareness or grasp of their own limits or place in the hierarachy.

Are they jealous? Resentful you're losing? My SIL never mentioned my 50lb. loss and asked if I had colored my hair??? Ignore them.

Never let others opinions affect you, “what others think of me is none of my business.” You are doing fantastic .

First off, 36 lbs is a big deal and be proud you've achieved so much already. Secondly, it's best to ignore others. And Katsolo's remark is probably something I'd run with as well. Keep going, you're doing great 👍👍

I've never had someone comment like that to me... Likely because of my personality and rbf. I have had people not notice my weigh loss and tell me so when I made the mistake of asking if they could tell. That was Diablo after I had a 40 pound loss. He was 19 years old. His friend (now our friend) said it was very noticeable but at the time I saw D every day and our friend not as often. Haha. I don't soon forget things... But don't ask if you don't wanna know the answer. 😆

They can bugger off! You do you.

Also... Some people have very poor social skills and no self awareness. I always know when I'm being an asshole and it's a choice...others, even here on fs, are clueless when it comes to comments -often unwarranted and unwanted.

you are kicking butt and sometimes people just can't handle it! Keep up the great work! Keep loving yourself!! ❤

Reality check please? ✔️ You’ve eliminated nearly 20 percent of your previous body weight. That’s a significant transformation. I trust and hope you are very pleased with, and proud of having accomplished that. Bravo!👏🏽
