Fiberoptic's Journal, 20 Mar 21

It is nice to see that I am still losing weight while finding my reset metabolism point. Dieting with no results was not fun, but very frustrating and disappointing. The numbers on my diet monthly calendars spoke for themsleves. They were accurate the first couple months and then my body shut down. It thought I was starving /overworking myself and slowed its metabolism. The calendars were right, but where I should have lost 7 pounds in January , i only lost 2.2.

The past couple of weeks I have increased my intake even more and stayed the same since February. This mornings drop was a pleasant surprise. Still I will increase to 1850 this week and 150 more a week until I start to gain weight.
When coming off a low-cal diet this should be done so the extra calories don't just pile back on. The body needs to deal with them effectively and reset its metabolism. You have heard about plateaus...this was something new to me.

I am glad if my posts help you and others Debbie. Let's get on the fast track. I think that staggering calories might be a good idea in the future. Keep the body from getting distressed and keep it guessing what's coming next.

I've heard both sides of the argument for and against reverse dieting and understand both. I must say I find the reverse is a good approach for me.
