I lost weight in spite of a little indulgence yesterday - we went out for celebratory pie after my daughter's choir concert. While unplanned, I was prepared for the extra calories (not so much the fat, though). And the cheesecake was delicious :). It obviously didn't hurt me too bad.

So far, the relentless math approach seems to be working... I am waiting for the up-tick correction, of course, because it always seems to come around. But maybe it won't - I've dropped calories and have tried to pin my calorie deficit on the number calculated from this article, recommended by Kingkeld (thank you, sir!). The other thing I've done is to drop my carbs significantly. I had been using the 60/20/20 formula to target my body composition reconfiguration project per the recommendations of Scooby, but I think that ratio was designed for someone more active than I am. I'm not inactive, but I have a desk job and I can't work out like a beast, so I think those carbs go to waste (and my waist). I am now shooting for 50/30/20, bumping up protein for the lost carbs - that way I can keep hitting the same number of protein grams within the framework of fewer overall calories.

So it's all tied together, and I'm sure I'll bounce around as the days progress, but I'm optimistic that I can continue losing fat.
