Glad -- grateful, in fact -- for this very small gain. I don't eat perfectly. For instance, I ate some fast food in the form of a Wendy's bunless Baconator on Thursday night. I quickly made two chaffles so I could eat it like a sandwich! Despite all this, I still mind my carbs, even if I don't weigh and track my food.

I did not feel like taking a blood pressure reading this morning. However, it has been great this week, except for this last Monday when it was high for a morning. I suspect it will rise on Monday, when my vacation is over and I go back to work, then it will probably go back down on the other days.

In any case, I don't really mind going back to my regular work routine; I just don't like waking up early! I know I could simply go to bed earlier. However, any time I do that, either I stay awake a long time before falling asleep late, or I get to sleep for a while, then wake up in the middle of the night, then feel like sleeping only when it is time to get out of bed! As a result, I keep going to bed late (around 11 PM or midnight) after flossing and brushing my teeth so that I can avoid the above-mentioned scenarios!

Starting tonight, Quebec is implementing a curfew from 8 PM to 5 AM every night for at least the next 4 weeks, in addition to the closing of non-essential stores and most public spaces. Apparently, everybody and their grandmother is having get-togethers in the evenings and spreading COVID. I don't go out at night and it won't make a big difference for me, except maybe having to go to the grocery store when it is packed at 5-6 PM (which I hate), but I doubt a curfew will help much in decreasing the number of cases. Based on 2020, the number of new cases should not go down significantly before June, unless we're lucky this year.

I am also concerned about the rate of vaccination, but mostly about the fact that Canada is receiving small batches of vaccine at a time. I understand that this is a pandemic and that the entire world requires vaccines, but at this rate, it will take years before most people get to be vaccinated and can even contemplate a vague resemblance of a normal life.

It is sunny outside! I will probably go outside sometime in the afternoon. In the meantime, I am crossing my fingers that things won't be too bad in February and that Quebec doesn't announce a 24/7 curfew then!

Bonjour Moufette. I understand your frustration with all the private get togethers spreading covid - I feel the same way. I wish people would stop fighting against the public health recommendations. I hope you do get out for a walk this afternoon. Have a good day!
