Weight loss, oh weight loss, why have you forsaken me?! Last night for dinner I simply had one hot dog and steamed broccoli. I skipped my yogurt snack and was hoping I could trick the scale into sneaking me at least a one pound loss but to no avail. You always hear successful dieters speak of their plateau, that moment when they do everything right but still can't lose. That is probably a little over dramatic, as I think it's a bit early to label this a plateau, but I'm feeling a little over dramatic so that's what I'll call it.
Two friends of mine wanted to hang out with me, I hate that. lol I must be like the worst friend in the world, but I hate being bothered with plans and all that other hoop-la. My one friend, Judy, wanted me to go on a little trip with her today while the kids are in school. I kindly declined. Although I would love to skip my gym day and chow down on some deep fried lunch I do not think that is the proper way to handle my frustration towards the evil scale. It wants me to fail, but I'll show it! My other friend, Trisha, wants to have a 'girls night' tomorrow night. Maybe I'm the only woman in the world who feels this way, but I would rather be on my couch watching a movie with my husband and kids than out at the bar listening to girls chatter on about whatever it is they chatter on about. She's not a very close friend of mine, thus my disinterest in her lol. Guess I'm more of an introvert. Small circle of friends, that's more than enough for me.
So in spite of the scale, and his evil plans to sway my dedication, I will be going to the gym today, watching my calorie intake, and trying to make smart plans for the weekend. Wish me luck, and send me all of your positive energy, I'm going to need it!
