My slight weight gain was to be expected. I tried making a low-carb yule log from an online recipe and I failed, so I ended up eating a slice of an actual high-carb normal cake that my friend bought, and it was really good!

I also cooked a beef brisket for the first time in my life! It was good but not tender enough I think. It was a very large brisket (more than 2 kg, about 5 lbs) but most of it has been eaten.

And of course, I drank some sparkling wine for New Year's Day!

My blood pressure is pretty good these days. I am happy about that.

I noticed the regular TV programming is back on Monday. Time flies so fast, I am glad I took another week of vacation!

Finally, some sunshine after so many days of cloudy and overcast weather! We also had some more snow during the night, so some shovelling is in order, but it does not look too bad.

Happy New Year!!! Baking fails I got a few of those behind me for sure. We got into flank steak last year and it was so cool (so much fat for me on keto). Not tried brisket yet but I saw it was on sale a few places. Maybe this will be my next try. I think my next adventure into low carb cooking is going to be a airfryer almond cake.. I really want to see what that is all about. Have a great weekend
