Up a tich...I got busy & didn't record yesterday's weight 144.2. I've been enjoying a few treats, although yesterday I never got around to lunch or a snack. I did have a festive cocktail as we prepared dinner 😊

Up early this morning to finish wrapping a last couple of gifts and getting prepared for our family to arrive at 1:00 for the Christmas party. I peeled 6 lbs. of shrimp yesterday & have to steam them today. We ordered wings from our favorite wing place so they just have to go in the oven to be warmed. We decided to do heavy hors d'oeuvres instead of a sit down style meal. Our house isn't huge & our family is growing every year. We can set up extra tables but decided this was easier & everyone enjoys the food anyway. Everyone contributes so it makes it easier on the host. We rotate homes each year.

I like your style Sherry! I'm always trying to get my mom to give up the full Christmas dinner and do hor d'oeuvres like my husband's family does. It's so much easier (except shrimp peeling!) 😉 and the host can enjoy a little more!!! We'll be alone this year but I bought a bunch of goodies to keep up our Christmas eve tradition! Enjoy!!!

Bear, we have always done a meal in addition to appetizers. At some point we talked about just doing appetizers because we were often feeling full by the time we got around to the main meal. We actually ate dessert yesterday cause we had a bit of room left. It worked fine to fill a plate & find a spot to sit & eat without having table seating for everyone. Of course there was a lot of grazing over the time everyone was here.
