Weighing in a bit early as I'll be out of town this coming week. I plan on continuing to track my food, but I feel like a recorded weigh-in on a foreign scale won't be accurate (though, nothing says I can't check my weight when I arrive and again before leaving just to keep an eye on fluctuations).

Seeing my parents for the first time since July, and I'm already working on my "willpower". Over the last few weeks they've asked what kind of cake I want for my birthday, whether they should pick up the stuff to make molten lava cakes, if I'd want cannolis and/or linzer tarts from their local Italian bakery. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy ALL of those things, but I'm working on an all-out lifestyle change. I'm finding new and polite ways to say "no", and I am making small allowances (said no to birthday and lava cake, yes to ONE linzer tart) -- However, in my experience, its far easier to say "no" over the phone than it is when said item is sitting in front of you.

I only started losing weight once I moved out. Food and eating was always a big deal while living at home, and it was never quite the healthier options, either (not that it wasn't delicious, just not great for you). Growing up, I saw my parents try a variety of diets, ranging from SlimFast to Atkins, and nothing ever stuck. They'd do great for a long while, and something would derail the whole thing and that was it. There was no getting back up on that horse.

I need to stay mindful of the "Why" behind my eating this coming week, and if I'm eating just because its something I don't normally have, stick to small portions.
