Lisa Online's Journal, 18 Dec 10

MY FatSecret! My main goal is to generate a high energy level each and every day by exercise, eating good food, surrounding myself with positive people and thinking positively. I am thinking about all the wonderful and positive changes I have made since January 2010. This post I repeat and edit as my thoughts come up:

I Lisa online (LOL) record my food and keep a personal journal daily to keep my mind-set focused, to make choices that are right for me and my weight loss, to keep honest and aware about what I eat and how I am feeling. My heart is full because I have many wonderful online buddies to whom I can share my thoughts and feelings with and I have often said, "Fat Secret is like a diary that talks back kindly to me". I enjoy reading about other buddies success and struggles and as I write words to inspire them I am inspiring myself too. I record my weight every morning to stay accountable on a daily basis. I understand there are flucking fluctuations so I use my weight Loss Graph as my indicator about my weight and how it is trending. For this year 2010 it has been on a upward and onward trend and I have lost 46 pounds in 50 weeks!

I Eat a variety of healthy food and have eliminated a lot of junk (empty calories) because these types of food send me into a tail spin of overeating. I have stopped overeating because I respect, appreciate and enjoy food. By keeping my calories between 1200 and 1500 per day I never feel deprived and always have just the right amount of food to keep my body nourished and satisfied.

I Exercise 4 to 7 days per week and enjoy it because it generates energy and makes me feel good. Somewhere I heard the words,"Your body is the gym" and I move and groove whenever possible and my body thanks me because it loves the freedom of expression and movement. I dance whenever the spirit moves me and when I am on the Stair Master "I call it dancing with the stairs", I sing and breathe deeply and enjoy listening to music! I love to sweat as it releases stress and then I take a refreshing shower and see all my worries wash down the drain. Swimming with my 11 year old daughter gives us special time together and we are creating wonderful memories. Jogging with the 1st through 6th graders in the morning is so much fun. In elementary school I was always one of the last kids around the track. I am not anymore (lol) I enjoy encouraging and teaching the children how to go their own pace, build up and enjoy the flight of moving their body's around the track. Working out to a D.V.D. starring and created by my H.S. friend Rodney Carson who is a retired Marine is a great tool. "Drop and give me 20" gives me a workout for my body's overall isolated muscle strength that I can build at my own pace. When I need a drill sergent I just press play! My body has cooperated well after having two babies and carrying excess weight. I am pleased with the way my body has taken back it's shape and in 2011 look forward to sculpting it with proper attention to isolated muscle groups. Walking in the rain with my husband has been tradition since I met him 30 years ago and is a nice way to spend the season of rain, holding hands with the man I love.

I've Built a strong support group with inspirational fun people.(thank you everyone for your friendship and valued time ) My writing and social needs are being met by joining F.S. This support group tool is developing day by day and I am at awe about how important it is to have such unity. Everyone has struggle but there is a wonderful resilience of spirit I witness each and everyday on this site. I meditate and pray everyday!

Happily I have Lost 46 pounds in 50 weeks, and 6 dress sizes going from a size 16/18 to 10. I wore a nice little black dress to my 30th Highschool Reunion and felt like Cinderella when I looked in the mirror that day!

I get out of bed and the bathtub a lot easier now, and can feel strong muscle groups to manuever around. I can balance on one foot with ease. My rings on my fingers fit well and don't swell to the point I can't take them off without the use of lotion or soap. I can stand and walk for long periods of time without feeling exhausted. I sleep well. My posture is getting stronger and straighter. I have more self confidence! My attitude and mind has gone from a lot of stinking thinking to a postive outlook and mind-set. I have more good days then bad!

I am doing and trying more things such as horse back riding, quad driving, Zumba classes, push ups, volunteer activities, etc. My writing, dancing, singing, and artist skills are being utilized and it has been fun. I enjoy finding treasures of inspiration in other people's writing. I am seeking and doing things that I love and do it! I find pleasure in simple tasks. I am happy because I chose to use and be creative with my freedom of expression.

I have lost on average one pound per week and if I keep up the momentum will reach my goal weight sometime early in the year 2011. I look forward to continuing on and maintaining which will be something I haven't successfully done before but with inspirational maintaining buddies and the things I have implemented for my health, I know it can and will be done!

TOWANDA is attitude. Learn what is required to feel good about oneself. You and I are worth the effort! Love and take care of yourself by stepping outside of guilt, come from your power not your weakness, accepting yourself as you are right now and don't take life too seriously, have fun!.

Did you ever see "Fried Green Tomatoes"? Something about the Kathy Bates character strikes a chord with me especially at this exact time in my life. I feel the word TOWANDA gives me Power to succeed. YouTube has a few videos that come up when you type the word Towanda. Pick one of the longer running Towanda clips and play it to get a good laugh and feel like you can take care of yourself........ Mind, Body and Spirit. You can do this. We are doing this as this is a Live-it not a Die-t!!! TOWANDA!!!

Amazing journal Lisa! You have the right mindset about this lifestyle and the eating is where most people get tangled up on but your right on getting your mind straight about respecting food and thinking about the pros that you have earned by losing the excess. People focus way to much on food and thus have a greater chance on overeating and obsessing over food and this is where people fail and just get fat. Becoming one with your food and being tranquil and in joy with what your doing is half the battle. Thank you,

Powerful! Inspirational! Motivating! I am going to read and re-read this entry. Thank you Lisa for putting into words so many of the things I feel! I think we should all spend some time reflecting on our past year, I imagine this was very theraputic for you!

Lisa, I am totally inspired by your journal entry. I think it is awesome that you have taken account of all the amazing accomplishments you have achieved over the past year. When our successes are small, we tend to overlook them, and move on....but when you take a look at all the small successes and how they have all added up and the total positive impact they have, WOW. You have given me reason to celebrate the small successes as they come, and the motivation to keep myself accountable. Thanks for this honest and moving entry.

You're doing well. It is great you lost so much weight in nearly a year. I think exercise is a key to us losing weight and keeping it off. As we age our metabolism may slow down. Mine did from medication I'm on. Have a great Sunday, and remember it is hardly ever to cold to go out for a walk unless it is below 20* outside...

P.S. Lisa - I typed in 'The Ninj' but got you! Tell me how to get to her journal if you can... Today for me, more writing, more laundry, and I hope a walk unless I go to the store. It is difficult getting around without getting rides everywhere though on Friday I walked two miles to the store. You really are doing great. I don't need to lose fifty pounds, maybe twenty and it is possible to really do it if I focus. One thing for all of us is to avoid too much sugary stuff and lately I've been craving it - but as you have said I think "nothing tastes as good as thin feels". I've heard it on here a lot and it's so true - stay on here for maintenance it's worth it and may help keep you from gaining weight back...
