Small loss but still in maintenance. I have been eating more homemade sweet keto/low-carb stuff (so no actual sugar) lately, which is strange. Usually this makes me gain weight. Aside from that, no significant change from my usual diet.

I am still monitoring my blood pressure, and it is still too high to my liking. This morning, I took my BP three successive times. Instead of decreasing a bit at the second or third measurement like it usually does, my systolic went up each time! Only my diastolic went down. My pulse remained high because this makes me really nervous and it is hard to control.

Sometime close to the end of this week (I think it was on Thursday evening), I decided to go and see a long-forgotten friend: my good old treadmill! I did 30 minutes of walking and jogging on it. I also did some exercise with my two 8-lb weights. I felt so tired, and my calves were cramping! For health (and BP) benefits, apparently I need to do this every day for 30 minutes to an hour, for a minimum of 4 months! I cannot afford to wait 4 months to see my BP improve!

Why 4 months? I have read somewhere that exercise for health reasons, such as hypertension, takes as long as 3 to 4 months to be effective for the body, even though some other benefits (not health-related) can show up within 4 weeks. Considering that studies show that it takes on average 3 weeks to adopt a new habit, I will have a lot of trouble doing moderate to intense exercise each and every day for 30 minutes to 1 hour for a couple of days, let alone for 4 months!

Aside from this, I cannot complain because it was beautifully sunny yesterday afternoon until sunset, and it is going to be a nice and sunny day all day today! Tomorrow is going to be an ugly and thunderstormy day, but that's OK because tomorrow is Sunday (a.k.a chore day), and I would rather have sun on Saturdays anyway!

P.S.: The "Moon Cheese" snacks are finally sold in Costco in Canada! They changed their packaging. I love these when I am in the mood for crunch.
