Yes Melissa I had some “candy”! A snickers at lunch and a plate of cheese and crackers for a bedtime snack. (Not candy but a huge 600 kcal snack) However I did skip my midnight bottle of water last night. Thought I’d see if that would help me sleep better if I skipped it and didn’t have to get up 1-2 times a night lol.

Hahah! I guess you could have had two snickers!! You are a calorie burning machine right now. I am a huge fan of sleep, so good not "Goin!" 😁 I've had ice cream three days in a row! I'm feeling very accomplished, because I only had a serving rather than 800 calories worth at each sitting!

Very nice! Ice cream is one of those things that’s hard for a lot of people to stick to portion sizes. It’s just so good! I’d never really been thankful for being lactose intolerant until I tried to lose weight. ice cream never settles well so I don’t eat it often. I slept less than 6 hours good sleep total, over an hour to get to sleep and bed app says almost an hour restless. Best night of sleep I’ve had in awhile. Better than the night I got 8 hours!

You don't get enough sleep! It that was better?! Gosh... Sorry! Does anything help? I am really, really trying to teach myself better portion control. I think it is one of the hardest maintenance elements for me. I'm so controlled and careful so much of the time, and I'm working so hard at fitness. Then I so easily blow it on delicious treats that join one another. I want to have that one candy... Even a candy bar that fits my budget... And not let go and let the yummy taste drag me into over eating. OK.. I know normal challenge . It is just my special focus at the moment.😁

I personally am not a fruit eater. I love bananas and strawberries but I tend to sit down and eat the whole container of strawberries or get up for another banana when the kids don’t scarf them down as soon as I bring them home. I’ve always been a late eater. Was raised with parents who skipped breakfast, ate a small lunch, big dinner then evening drink/snack. If I eat early then I’m hungry all day and can easily put away 2000 calories in a day and go to bed hungry. I can’t sleep when hungry 😞. I find that I could stick to a lower calorie diet if I had a sweet or salty snack before bed. My dr agrees that eating later isn’t as healthy but even she says she can’t be done eating at 6 and go to bed at 10.

Melissa, I like 9 hours sleep! Always have. As a teen I’d go to bed at 10, up around 6-6:30 then weekends were 12-12 when possible to catch up. One of my medications causes insomnia so it’s worse now. I have to take with food so I take it at lunch. On days I eat later I can’t sleep at night. Figured out I have to take it by 1pm at the latest or I’ll stay up all night. Even with the sleep aide! It’s the first day of school today. That means I’ll have to get up 6-6:30 again so I see some naps in my future lol. Will probably have to be morning naps though lol. Two nights a week we don’t even get home until 8:45. Then I have to cook, showers, kids to bed then unwind for an hour before I can sleep. In a couple months we will start all the sports so it’ll be like that 4-5 nights a week.

You are gonna be an insanely busy girl... Wow! I don't envy you that coming schedule... Or the missing sleep, which I imagine will be worse than now. 😢 Hang in there and sleep and rest when you can.

IF practices stay the same it’ll be T/TH 6-8 all year, M-F 3-4 (Sept-Feb), Th/Sun 6:30-7:30/1-3 (Dec-Feb), Sun 3-5 (Oct-Dec), M-F 3-4 (Feb-May)... that’s just basketball and track lol. Add in 3x a week gym for us, possibly monthly meetings for FFA, 1st grade program, Moms group Sept-May 2x a month, AR Tues, class parties etc. I did get a nap today. Like 11-3 nap! It was awesome! But I could still go to bed right now :/.
