Sitting on the back deck enjoying some Sweet Corn & roasted Poblano soup & a glass of Cran-Pineapple juice with a splash of Coconut Pineapple sparkling water. My daughter got me hooked on pineapple juice when I was visiting. Of course it was often mixed with a bit of rum or vodka 😆😉 Just juice, today. The weather is a little cooler with a mix of clouds & sun so it was a good day for Hubby & I to prune the bushes at the top of our drive. That was a workout in itself! We got one side done but will have to get back to the other side later. The side we did all the bushes grow like their on steroids while the other side is slower growing. I spend more time working in the gardens close to the house so these bushes had gotten really tall & full. Since they are close to each other & some are in front of & one behind a stone wall they were looking quite overgrown. Better now 😊

The pansies & green vinca vine in the window box on my back deck were looking quite sad...they didn't get watered enough while I was away....so I replaced them yesterday with red, white (vinca) & blue (lobelia) flowers for a patriotic theme. I have a red, white & blue birdhouse & blue glass bottles on the covered deck. This is where I like to sit in an Adirondack chair. One of my "Happy Places" at our house. I also have potted red Impatiens & coleus and a potted red geranium & white vinca.

Planning boneless, skinless chicken breasts on the grill tonight...maybe broccoli & baby red potatoes on the side.

I've been trying to read a book chosen for our bookclub for over a month, now. I have a little over 100 pages....need to finish! I had a hard time getting in to it at first. Anyway....gonna try to read a little more. We're doing a Zoom Book Club next week & I haven't even started the book for that 🙄 And I need to order it cause it's not available at our library. Our local Library opened this week!!! I stopped by yesterday. It's brand new and after waiting for constuction to be complete it was planned to be open right when the quarantine started. It's very nice, bright & modern.

Sounds like a lot of work! I'd love to see pictures of your yard gym!!! Maybe that covered deck too! Sounds beautiful!!!

I was really tired at the end of the afternoon before making dinner. After my break I grabbed the blower to get rid of some potting soil that I hadn't seen under the deck railing, from planting the flowers. I ended up blowing leaves & debris all the way up the driveway. Melissa, I'll see if I can't get some long range photos of our gardens. I usually take closeups.

It all sounds delightful. ❤ I am back to gardening, well mostly cut back and weeding my small enclosed garden that was a bit beglected while we were gone. What time is dinner? 😉😋😀
