59Carol's Journal, 30 May 20

I held my own this week. I have to say that I was tempted to put down yesterday morning's weight which was 0.8 pounds down. However, I told myself that I had agreed (with myself, of course!) that Saturday morning was the snapshot weight. So I 'girled up' and owned it.

Last week I set myself the goal to stay in my window for the entire week. In the end I was under my window for the first 3 days, followed by 3 days of being in my window and then yesterday I was 220 calories over my window. Throughout the week I logged small incremental losses until this morning but still less than a pound gain. Over the entire week I was just under my window. I think my big blip last night (and all the extra calories took place within an hour of bedtime) is just that a blip. Next week I will continue with the goal in mind that I will remain in the window. I will have to continue to be on guard for that last hour of the evening. I want to avoid the way low and way above roller coaster.

Last night I went to an important event for a friend of mine. Her son became an 'official' lawyer and the family were celebrating his accomplishment. It took place at a restaurant's patio where there were lovely appetizers and beverages of all sorts. Beautiful weather. I did find it somewhat hard to navigate the COVID stuff while wanting to just relax and enjoy myself. I am glad that I went to offer my congratulations. It is important to gather and celebrate!

Good job Carol, your hard work will yield results. I, too, am trying to stay within my window and have been doing much better. Glad for your friend but be careful out there in the world, there are too many people who are not following CDC guidelines.

Well done being so dedicated, and the scale will probably dip lower next time! I'm glad you could share in you're friends' celebration. Have a great coming week!

I wish you well Shirfleur! I hope you are able to maintain the window. It can be harder than it seems it should be. I will be careful.

Thank you Melissatwa. I am really wanting to make that scale move more. I am in my 93rd week of working on my weight and around 73 pounds down. I don't want to stall out now on the last 27 pounds.

That is a terrific amount gone in not so many weeks! I understand not wanting to slow or pause your loses, but clearly you have made some long lasting changes!

Melissatwa- thank you for your encouragement! It is definitely 'hunker down and get 'er done' time for me! I do appreciate the journey thus far and I don't actually anticipate the weight journey to end as it is a life style and not a diet that ends.
