59Carol's Journal, 09 May 20

I am slowly ever so slowly inching in the right direction! This week I lost 0.4 pounds like I did last week. The good news is that I averaged 35 less calories per day less than last week. That is still 15 calories above my chosen window but I am edging closer. Each day I did a variety of things to shave off a few calories here and there. For example, I halved the number of olives on my salad and took off the cheese. That was 85 less calories making two relatively small changes. I don't like to make drastic changes as I find they are not sustainable. So, this week I need to shave off another 20 calories to be within my window. That is the plan!

This week is about my adult daughter. She has been averaging a temperature of 99-102F for about 5 days now despite taking meds to reduce the temperature. She has an incredibly sore throat. She was tested on Thursday and now we wait for the results. Meanwhile she is trying to isolate at home but the kids and partner are not always good about keeping their distance. They try.

Melissatwa I tried to download 3 different pictures of what our boreal forest looks like as promised. Apparently, they are all ‘invalid’ according to the program. Maybe I will try a different day.

Wonderful. I'm trying some little changes too. They add up! And thank you for thinking of me! I would love to see the photos. Maybe they will work another time. I only remember being up Edmonton way a couple times as a little girl. My husband and I went to visit his brother there once, but I have little memory of the area much... Just the journey and West Ed mall! 😁
