Not much weight change (very slight loss) despite somewhat snacking due to readily available food at home!

Like most people these days, I am pretty much stuck home. Since this Monday, I have been working from home. I was able to go to work on Monday to get my laptop though. I feel privileged to be able to telework because in less than a week, so many people just got laid off. Obviously, if COVID-19 lasts a long time, the economic crisis will get worse as much fewer services will be available (except maybe groceries and pharmacies) and therefore very few people will be able to work and will have to take care of their children (school closings).

I also worry about not just being infected from COVID-19, but actually dying from it. I am hypertensive and one of the drugs I take for hypertension is an ARB (angiotensin II receptor blocker), and rumor has it that both hypertension and medication that block angiotensin (angiotensin conversion enzyme (ACE) inhibitors and ARBs) increase the risk of respiratory failure and death with COVID-19, apparently because the SARS-CoV-2 virus binds to the ACE2 (angiotensin-converting enzyme 2) released by ACE inhibitors and ARBs. However, most cardiologists say that the research is not conclusive and that all drugs for blood pressure are safe.

Now, I keep reading that people with blood type A (which is my case, I am of the A+ type) are more likely to be infected and/or develop complications with COVID-19 than other blood types, and that blood type O is a "safer" blood type to have. Just what I needed to hear...

Strangely enough, despite my health worries linked to this coronavirus, I worry more about empty shelves at the grocery store. This is not something I can control, so just like everybody else, I wash my hands more often (no more hand sanitizer available anyway) and go out only to run errands (grocery/pharmacy). I am very much an indoors person. I also feel kind of cheered up because the sun is shining in my area! Stay safe everyone!

Nice to hear from you. We can only do our best. I think we are doing good here in Canada having had a bit of time to get things sorted out before it was spreading too much. I felt the same way about the grocery stores. More scary than anything. Although it is eerie with how quiet streets are and that stores are closed. But we shall beat this!
