T'was that the time capsule was nowhere to be found as the maintenance crew with picks, shovels and a small back hoe dug deep into the hard pan soil. Exciting when they hit metal and an object appeared under dirt cover. Sure looked like a handle and the excitement was felt all around but ended up being a rusty old stake of some sort with a strange wire poking out at the top. It wasn't the treasure my friends, neighbors and the work crew were hoping for, but yesterday was a memorable day indeed. Friends such as you here on F.S. are my true treasure, so I am a rich lady afterall. TOWANDA!!!!!!!!

The following text is from an author named Jon Gordon who inspired me to become an Energy Addict! I have had a few addictions in my life and when I learned about aspiring for energy I knew that was an addiction for me. I am so getting this now, slowly but surely. Everyone, thing, stuff has energy. I like my things but things take space and need the respect of being taken care of by their owner. The more you own, the more you are responsible for and this can lead to a cluttered, messy life that blocks energy.

Elimate Clutter Inside and Out

Do you have a new project that needs to get done? perhaps a propsal you should prepare for a new client, or the first chapter of the book you have always wanted to write. maybe it's a song that has been floating in your head or a plan for your new business. If there is something that you need to do but it's not getting done, one of the first places to start is to clear out the clutter around you and inside you.

Clutter can block precious new energy from flowing into your life by filling up your life and space with old stagnant energy -energy that loves to build up and stay right on your desk, mail spread out all over the counter, a closet filled with old clothes you never wear, or even old salad dressing taking up the space in your refrigerator.

When you attack that to-do list, you clear the physical energy around you and allow new energy to come in. It's an energy thing. It simply makes you feel better. We are energy, so when we clear out the old stagnant energy around our space we feel more lively and energized.

the same goes for mental clutter. When you get rid of toxic thoughts, toxic people and toxic belief in your life you eliminate the energetic clutter that holds you back. Replace beliefs such as "Bad things always happen to me" with "I accept all the great things in my life". Replace thoughts like, "I hate the rain" to "I love the rain because it brings water and life". This is one I have worked on a lot. And to the people who are always being negative to you and filling your life with negative words and actions, ask them to change. Try to help them change. If they are unwilling, you might just have to throw them and their clutter out of your life.

Once you throw out your clutter, you'll feel more energetic and alive. You will have more energy to start your project and create success in your life. Try it and you'll feel the difference.

Action Steps:

Pick one space in your house and/or office that is cluttered. Organize it and throw out the clutter. Observe how you feel when you are finished.

Identify one toxic person, thought, or belief in your life and change it. Feel how the energy increases.

Keep a journal to release clutter in your mind.

Read the books, Clear Your Clutter with Fueng Shui by Karen Kingston and Organizing from the Inside out by Julie Morganstern.

I like clearing or cleaning and organizing one shelf at a time. I also have far too much clutter and boxes with things I don't know if I will ever use. "Clear Your Clutter" with Fueng Shui is in our public library system in both hard copy and as an audio book. Thanks for the post!

Thank you Information, I wore a 1976 outfit for the unearthing of the time capsule, and really had so much fun with it. "It is okay to play!" Today, I will have an opportunity to collect some items for my time capsule that I am putting together for my 30th H.S. reunion on the weekend of 10/10/10 and visit a very dear friend and her family. We are sleeping on her farm land underneath the stars and moon. TOWANDA!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm a very cluttered person in a very cluttered house. I'm looking forward to enough improvements in my health to do something about it since I don't have anyone to help me fix it. Thanks for the information.

Lisa, great excerpt! And it is so true. When our world is cluttered, it affects everything. I am a bit of a pack rat. My house has some clutter in some rooms, but the main area is bad. My winter project is to get the library and spare room de-cluttered. It is much easier in the winte since the extra chores are less than in the summer.

Oh, and sorry about the time capsule. That is odd, perhaps someone already dug it up? Who knows. Glad that you had fun anyway!

What a great photo. You look wonderful!!! I'm sorry the time capsule didn't appear. Growing up my boys have always loved pirate lore and the idea that there are piles of gold coins still uncovered. Must be the Californian in you. ;-) YAH FOR YOUR JOURNAL ENTRY!!! My linen and china cupboards thank you. Its K's birthday party this coming Saturday and I am going to be uncluttering like a madwoman this week. I sure needed this pep talk!!!
