I have to stop letting the scale determine how I feel about myself. Incredible progress as of late with meal prep, nutrition and I am working out like a fiend. I feel my body firming up. I look in the mirror on mornings and I like what I see. But if the scale returns a number I was not expecting by a couple of pounds I am deflated. I start questioning every choice. Did I need to add avocado to that smoothie? I could have gone without fruit in my cottage cheese. I could have done an extra 30 minutes of cardio. Why do I question my progress based on this arbitrary number. I am healthier now and I will continue to get healthier and stronger. Yes I will but maybe this number I set is not what is best for my body. Does it matter if I am 155 lbs of 160 on a 5'11 frame? I should not let the scale determine how I feel about me and my progress. I will get there. Marathon, not a sprint.

Just have faith in all the amazing work you are doing !! Easier said than done but you’re creating healthy habits you will carry the rest of your life ! Do the work and the numbers will get there. The body is a very confusing piece and it could be you’re gaining muscle weight. I’ve been experiencing something similar feeling so much better but wishing the numbers were dropping faster. Just follow what is making you feel great and the rest will fall in line !! Don’t allow the stressful thoughts to push you to unhealthy extremes ! You got this !

I bet a lot of that extra weight is muscle weight 💪..Don't let the number on the scale define you too much, I'm sure you're doing awesome! :)

I have that same issue - obsessed with the number. This will be the third time in my life that I need to loose 30 pounds. What I have done the other two times is only walking and climbing stairs until I get within 10 lbs of my goal weight. No matter how long it takes me. Then I add in weights and calisthenics to firm up. Good luck to you v

Sounds like you are in a great shape already and the weight number is merely about fat (but also muscles, water etc.) At a certain point I find helpful: changing the ways you measure scales to just mirror or measuring tape (if you desire to see the progress in numbers), or just fitting in new clothes. They also say that bio scales are good in measuring amount of fat/muscles/water, but I haven’t tried those

Amen! That number is just a number. If you feel good and like what you see then you are definitely moving in the right direction!!!!
