I wish to acknowledge just how hard it is to log a 0.2 gain. Especially as yesterday I was at a 1.4 pound loss!! I so wanted to record yesterday's weight. But I need to be true to the plan of Saturday morning is the weight I use. Grrrr!

Last week I was frustrated as I expected a loss and gained. Last week I averaged 20 calories per day under my goal window. And gained a half pound. This week I averaged 40 calories over the goal window (90 calories per day more than last week) and gained 0.2.

So what does this tell me? I think last week I was ripped off and would have seen a good loss this week had I not been eating as much as I did. Second of all-- I can manage to eat 200 calories in the 15 minutes before going to bed. I really need to address this habit of eating in this window. I will need to find a replacement as I want something but present choices around cheese and crackers and dates and walnuts are not the ones to go with! Onward and forward!

I am so very excited about my new tile that is going down as of yesterday. It looks wonderful! I had a terrible time getting it from the store to my home. Spoiler alert - everything turned out fine in the end. They loaded a plastic wrapped pallet into the back of my truck. I had been very clear that I had 2.5 hours of highway driving to get home. I was on the road for half an hour when the wrap started coming off. I was dragging at least a 40 foot 'tail' when I pulled over. I tried to re wrap it. I couldn't shift the load as each item was too heavy for me to lift. Did I mention it was -33C (-27F)? Wind was up as well. In 15 minutes had to pull over again with a 20 foot tail of plastic behind me. Wedged it in between the thinset bags and kept going. Two bags slid off into the truck box. The top of the load had no more plastic wrap by the time I got home. I was tense and stressed during the drive. Final tally - I was fine, the load was fine and everything happened as it was supposed to.

For now I have quite the construction zone in my home. Big pile of supplies in the middle of the kitchen and I have emptied most everything from the kitchen counters and everything out of the entrance way. Workers will be back on Monday.

Eating at night is something that is trying to sneak back into my life. I had to shut it down, again. I'll probably have to do that over and over and over again throughout my life.

I so hear you on this. I have also managed to shut this down in the past. At the moment, it is feeling like automatic pilot. I also feel myself not wishing to stop in the moment. I will need to think this through so I can attend to it proactively.

Stopping the late night snacking helps me too...sometimes I still give in. Thank God you are alright after your trucking fiasco...and the load too. :0)

Thanks Binky! I did let the store know and they are reviewing their practice. Some of the tile has been laid and it looks wonderful so it made that crazy trip worthwhile. I have a plan regarding the eating at night. I did it yesterday and it worked however the habit was strong and it was hard to do it the first time. I sucked on a Werthers candy. It is 20 cal vs the 200+ of the crackers/cheese/dates and walnuts. The idea is that if I already have something sweet in my mouth and I get into bed and start reading I can't easily slide into the old choice. It is crazy that I had to really talk myself out of the old choice!

That is a good idea. I use Altoids before bed sometimes. 10 calories for 3. Glad the tiles look good. :0)

What are Altoids? I have never heard of them. Thank you regarding the tiles. They have to look wonderful as I can barely get into my kitchen right now - frig is in the middle of the floor, construction tools and supplies are about a quarter of the kitchen. I have certain pathways I can use so I don't walk on tiles that aren't set yet, etc. Last night my freezer was put in place and so I dragged in about 10 garbage bags that contained all my frozen food. We had stored them in snow banks while the freezer settled from its move and the grout set! Food is back in the freezer. Short term pain for years of gain!

First off congratulations on redoing your kitchen. I would love to see the finished product. I get how you feel 100%, because I have the same habits. My daughter taught me something, she likes to eat at night, so she just pushed her food consumption towards that time. I don’t know if that’s helpful or not but it’s working for me. By the way, air popped popcorn with a cup of chamomile tea, is also a good way to go. Have a wonderful day, I’m glad you made it home out of the cold safely.
