Diddlee's Journal, 26 Oct 19

Listened to a lecture yesterday that said both calcium and potassium calms the body. Makes me feel more sure that this is why I sleep so much better these days. Calcium in supplements form have been proven to be counterproductive. Can be harmful. Bone meal or eggshells is my choice. And only a little per day. Less than 1000mg.

More about the harmful bit here:

Where do you get bone meal at? I'm assuming the eggshells are just what you ground up from your eggs.

tatauu22 I have been wondering about where to get bone meal too. Still haven't tried that. There is a link to one source on this page https://chriskresser.com/calcium-supplements-why-you-should-think-twice/ My plan is to get a bone from my local butcher and somehow make it into powder. Till then, eggshells will be it.

tatauu22 Read a bit more, and find Now Foods sell a pound of bone meal for less than $10. Bone meal absorb more easily. Egg shells can cause constipation. Bone meal would be ideal to mix into burger patties or sausages, due to the increased stomach acid given with meat. A long term plan in progress.. in my case, primarily for good night's of sleep

I'll have to research all this. Questions questions. Thank you for doing some legwork

Interesting. I have osteo arthritis and the calcium supplements have essentially been proven worthless in many studies. does your research say to eat calcium and potassium in the evening?
