SherryeB's Journal, 16 Oct 19

😯 I was pretty sure this was going to happen. I was trying to come up with some different meals this week. I found a recipe cooking chicken wings in the oven with no additional oil. Tried it & they turned out nice and crispy but still moist. My mistake was I predetermined the calories, but after eating dinner I realized I hadn't calculated correctly. The wings I bought came as peices with the wing & drumette attached. I counted them as one wing, although I had cut them apart. After eating I realized for calorie counting purposes I needed to count each peice separately. Too late!! I had already eaten them. The good news is they were really tasty. Just need to have fewer wings next time 🙄 I had oven fries too,but those I weighed so the calorie count was good. And of course the baby carrots & celery I threw in for veggies were all good.

I feel like I'm more in maintenance than weight loss mode these days. I've been within a lb. or 2 of my goal FOREVER. Can't seem to get over that little bump. I saw a post yesterday that said "You won't see your weight in your obituary or on your tombstone". It was meant to be funny, but I had the thought....that's true but if we aren't trying to change our weight, what are we doing on a weight loss app? I know I'm much more than my weight, but right now it does seem to be important to me to hit that goal.

I come here to keep track of calories but also for the support and information. It is frustrating being so close to goal and never hitting it. You can hit that goal. Those wings sound yum.

Sherrye..I think it is more about the reason behind the weight loss and with those who have done well and are doing well, not over obsessing and celebrating the wins. I no longer track but am now on a new journey for fitness. I like to use the journal for reflection and feedback. Many have stopped just short of goal (ME!) because they were pretty satisfied with the mirror and their health. Some go below goal because they want wiggle room for fear they will gain above goal. Just as long as you aren't over stressing it, it's all good. You can make the last 2 lbs if that is what your heart desires. you got this.

In the past (I've used the FS app a few times to help lose a few lbs.) after meeting my goal I've stopped tracking after awhile. I kept my journal private & didn't really follow anyone else's journey. This time around I decided to make my journal public and have enjoyed feeling part of the FS community. I'm thinking after I officially go into maintenance mode I'll still journal & follow others. I'm genuinely interested & happy when others meet both daily & long term goals.
