Day 5
Am up this morning, but I'm going to try & not let it bother me. I couldn't sleep last night although I didn't go to bed until 4am this morning. When I couldn't sleep, I decided to get back up at 5.30am. I was feeling quite hungry, so I made myself oatmeal. 1/3c dry, 1/3 tsp salt & 1c 1% milk. It could be the reason, I'm up this morning. I went back to bed at 7.30am & slept until 11am.
It's now noon & my husband is making me a poached egg with 2 sl wwheat toast with becel. I want to make bread a weekend treat. For supper, I plan to BBQ steak & make baked potatoes in the oven. We have salad leftover from last night & I may make some sauteed mushrooms & onions. It's lovely & sunny outside & +1 Celsius.
It's 1.30am on Day 6 & Day 5 has been my hardest so far to get through. Especially evening & because I'm still up, right now is really difficult. I feel hungry & yet I really shouldn't be, but I just want to go & get some nice buns from the freezer & put butter & jam on them & eat them. Would probably not stop till I would eat 4 of them, I'm sure. It's just cravings I know, but I'm struggling here.
For supper, I made what I intended, so possibly the potato is what's driving me to crave. I had only 1/2 of my steak & kept the other half for tonight's dinner. I had lots of butter on my potato, so it was lovely, but I didn't put dressing on my salad to try & compensate for the butter, a bit anyway. I also had about a cup of baby carrots & brussel sprouts. Dinner was great & I really enjoyed it. We ate at 5pm, so by 6pm I was already looking for chocolate. At 7.30pm, I allowed myself a 100 cal Crunch popsicle. That didn't hold me long, but I held out until 11.30pm & then I made some hot chocolate with 2 tsp powder & 1/2c hot water. I've never liked hot chocolate, but I drank most of it & it helped for a while. I will go to bed soon & hope that I sleep & that come morning, I will be ready to have a smoothie or something equally acceptable & get back on the treadmill.
