Another weight gain... see what happens when I don't log in for a week? That's OK, I only have myself to blame. All that snacking, I can't help it! I know I have to stop snacking that often during the week, but I have no willpower. My problem is that I need food to taste good to eat it. And when it is great-tasting (even keto or low-carb), I tend to eat too much of it. And when I try to control myself (e.g. eating only meat and veggies), it works for a while, but then I drift slowly but surely to the keto-friendly sweets and nuts. Such a first-world problem!

This reminds me, I watched a very interesting video yesterday on YouTube with this pastor who controls his insulin resistance with a low-carb diet (channel is named "Beat Diabetes!"). He has a calm voice and is funny at times; even a non-religious person can enjoy his channel. Yesterday's video was him and his sister reminiscing about their mother and her very difficult battle with diabetes, high blood pressure and the consequences on her health and well-being. One of the important messages of that video is that snacking may have an adverse effect on health and may contribute to the development of metabolic syndrome. I think I need to replay this video again...

I want to talk about the Great Canadian Keto Conference that was held in Toronto last Saturday, but I think I will create a new journal entry for this because this novel is getting long!

Yeah I really try to limit snacking. Keeping that insulin low is very beneficial in keeping appetite in check as well. The more often I eat, the more I eat. This has probably been one of the most important lessons I have learned from keto.
