8 years after starting my weight loss journey , still weighing about 1x month, still using the same tools/practices, still living and loving life, and as such still maintaining my total 75kg loss within a 2kg window up/down. Caloric deficit, food neutrality, intuitive eating, working on consistency in activity and movement at whatever level my body feels comfortable.

A quote from a book called Am I hungry by Dr. Michelle May that has helped in my journey of relearning how to eat after “recovering” from diet-mindset about mindful/intuitive eating

“Mindful eating boils down to nonjudgmental awareness of the present moment. Period. As soon as you begin telling yourself (or others) that, ‘you should only eat when you’re hungry’ , ‘you should stop eating before you are full’ , ‘you have to be mindful of what is in the food you’re eating’ or ‘ you have to eat slowly, chew each bite x times, and never eat when distracted’, or any other myriad of other rules, you have turned the mindful eating cycle into a restrictive eating cycle and we all know how that will turn out. “

It has been a while since I’ve read the book, but it’s worth recommending if anyone else is tired of restrictive-reactive (starve-“binge”) eating cycle and want to get out of it.
