Expected a bigger jump due to water weight. Will probably show up tomorrow.

Taking it easy, taking it eeeaaaassssyyyy... (yes I’m singing it) today. Dropped kid off, for fuel ( for me and suburban ), thrift store so another kid could look for a used book case, picked up kid, home to wash dishes and the hamster cage we found and now lunch. Job interview for my 13 year old. She’s already deciding how she will spend her money! No interview completed, no idea what the job will be, how much it pays or even if she will get it 🤦‍♀️. Teaching this one to be financially responsible is becoming a big challenge. My middle has $180 saved (40% of allowance also goes into savings that she can’t touch) and my 4 ur old saved $21 and have her allowance she can’t touch. My oldest just has the 40% set back. At this rate she will have $620 saved for her car at 16 and nothing else. She could have saved $2400 by the time she turns 16 if not more. Name brand everything, roller blades, now wants her own phone, computer and top of the line bike. 🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️ Gonna suck when she’s riding that fancy bike 6-7 miles to school in the snow and rain lol. Oh well she will learn from me or she will learn the hard way. 🤷‍♀️

Now after lunch we are heading to her interview. I hope she gets it as I know the people and can trust them, she does need the money to save for her car etc but I’m not looking forward to two trips tot he school per day and another 1-2 trips for work each day. We agreed that she would pay fuel for one trip so she gets the idea that cars and fuel take money. That’ll be about $2 a day so won’t take much. Thought about taking out ‘tax’ and setting it aside in a ‘retirement’ fund (that would actually be her car fund), but I’m hoping she chooses to be responsible and not blow it the minute I’m not there to take her out of it.

OMG did this one ever strike a chord. It's like mopping the deck of the titanic.

It was one of those days. Oddly enough I didn’t feel that stressed. Kiddo got the job which consists of cleaning, organizing and boxing up a whole house over a 3 week period. Many years of accumulating items. Her employer is a good woman that I trust. The only down falls are we have to work it in around everything else which means more running back and forth and the employer is a smoker. She asked if I smoked around the kids and I said how I do it (if they can smell it they need to go somewhere else in the yard). By the time we left I think she planned to do something similar as I’m step right outside rather than have one in the smaller rooms. My kid is super excited for the job, her boss whom she likes, her bosses dogs lol and the fact that her boss is on a Keto diet and has lots of Dr. Pepper to get rid of. I don’t allow much pop. Simply because the kids drink nothing but pop until it’s gone. If they could share one a day it wouldn’t be a big deal. But with three of them they go through a 12 pack in like 2-3 days. It’s taken me 11 weeks to go through 36 cans of Coke Zero vanilla. I have 3-4 left and I’ve had help drinking them. Hubby will have 2 at a time to fill his glass. Anyway a good day for all!
