0.2 means 3.2oz. Guess I’ll take it lol. It’ll only take 15 days to get back to 117.4 at this rate. But at the sacrifice of not gaining muscle. *Sigh* perhaps I’ll cut one portion of one side for one meal a day to stay within my 100-200 kcal over my daily burn. Or not... this came on too fast so it can’t be muscle or fat. That leaves water. Stupid water lol. OR the 117.4 meant I was dehydrated. 115-120 I’m good with. 125 if I can tell a difference in muscle. Time to break out the tape measure!

Happy Thursday!

Farm week at PreK. I managed to snag the week since we live on a farm and all. Mini rice crispy treats in rectangles to be hay bales for horses, mini marshmallows for sheep’s wool, cubes of cheese for cows, ham for pigs and mini egg frittatas for chickens. Green napkins and yellow plates for John Deere tractors because the kids should recognize that over say a Case tractor. Kiddo wanted to take them with her so I find myself with an unexpected free morning. I’m hungry. Super hungry. So... I had a protein bar and now I’m off to read and maybe take a nap after my 4.5 hours last night. Anything to stay out of my kitchen, Easter basket and snack box.

Need to think about dinner too. Gym night tomorrow which means I need a quick meal. Kid going to skate so it’ll be challenging to do the gym and get her to the rink when I’m normally getting home. May have to beg hubby to take kids so we can drop her off but that means a super early dinner for her. Price of hanging out with friends I guess lol. She’s gaining fast so she needs to eat at home rather than the junk there. How does a kid gain 5# every few months? She’s athletic, in 3 sports throughout the year, lifts weights once a week and some nights has eaten more than her father who is a big eater. She doubles my portions. I give her the same as me usually but then she has seconds and sometimes finishes her sisters’ food. She’s 125ish at 5’4” so still in a good range but I get worried because last fall she was 110. Christmas was around 115, spring break (a month ago) she was going between 117 and 120. Surely she can’t be gaining that muscle muscle even with her weekly weights and 2 hours a day of PE and athletics. She doesn’t run except to practice hurdles a few minutes each day. So that’s a bit of HIIT for like 10-20 hurdles total per day. 5 minutes tops as she runs the race in less than 30 seconds with 10 hurdles. Just a worrier! But her jeans have gotten so tight she can’t get them on and they were baggy last fall. Well skinny jeans can’t be baggie but they were loose for skinny jeans. Even her joggers are flattening out her butt because they are getting tight. We just bought them! She doesn’t want to move to a medium because I wear a medium lol. I could wear a small in many brands but I’m 38 with 3 kids and obviously fake boobs so I don’t want to show the world exactly what God and surgeons gave me just yet lol. If I get visible abs and nice glutes I’ll wear a small more often ;). Sad that I can remember not wanting to go up because I didn’t want to wear moms size. I was 15-16 though not 13! But again her daddy is very large framed, 270ish and the ruby of his family at 6’ because he broke his growth plates in 8th grade. He has an uncle over 7’! I’m one of the tallest at 5’3” in my family. Enough worrying as I keep finding my hand straying to the snack box. Off to read or sleep!

My Daughter (14) is about the same size, situation as yours..... She had her annual physical and Doctor says she is spot on with weight around 120....She would prefer her not to get bigger due to her small frame 5'2", as not to place pressure on the joints and things. I am normal height 5'9 or so, unfortunately not that tall, wife around 5' 6" ---so we know she won't end up being tall either. As for the clothes, I agree ---seems like we just buy them (which we do), and before we know it she's already outgrown them. Ours has done Volleyball, Rowing, and now fitness training. In fact I had to just buy some for her the other day, when purchasing my own. I would say, track and field could do it ---while they are expending energy with running, they are building lean muscle in their legs, and eating carbs for fuel, and protein to build. When I was in high school many moons ago, I ran track for a year to help increase performance and speed for other sports I played. When I was done, my legs looked like a thoroughbred race horse legs (my football coach was astonished)---- eating properly and training right is all it takes !!! My daughter has taken time off from rowing, as she noticed a lot of her friends were growing larger legs sizes and shoulders--due to driving the skulling boat with their legs and rowing. She said she wasn't going to do it if it made her grow bigger ----I agreed and said who could blame her....What sports does yours play?

Mine is 13 and plays volleyball, basketball and track. She is a started for volleyball and basketball. She runs the 200m dash, 100m hurdles and does the long jump. Unfortunately she doesn’t run. Her coach is trying to be the ‘nice coach’ and basically tells the kids they need to run then leaves it up to the kids whether they do so or not. Lovely lady but not near hard enough on the girls. She coaches boys in track only but coaches the girls on all. In basketball they run plays daily but no steady running. Weights are once a week on Friday’s in PE. 45 minute class times each for PE and athletics and most of the year 25 minutes of morning practice. For track she just does the long jump 2-3 times and the same for hurdles. They rarely practice the longer races (her group). She does have big thighs as in muscular. Her arms grew during basketball but now her group refuses to add more than 80# on the bar (total weight including bar she says) so she’s maintaining but not gaining upper body muscle. I’d love to measure her monthly for muscle growth but she threw a fit at calorie tracking for 2 days lol. She still brings it up and how it means I think she’s fat. 🙄 I can’t imagine how she would act with monthly measurements. She has more muscle than half the boys in her class and most of the girls but it looks good on her. Her belly is getting a layer of fat and a tiny pooch and her butt, well it’s getting wider. She has women’s hips and butt already and her dr said she shouldn’t. She’s getting stretch marks which worried the dr and my daughter. She also now has a layer (thin) of fat on her thighs but before they were solid hard muscle so I think it’s normal to finally get a bit as she matured physically. I wasn’t an athlete so this is new to me. Hubby was however and says she’s growing as fast as he did which seems unusual for a girl even if she ends up with his build rather than mine.

Mine has to deal with the clothes. We give them $50/month for doing chores and they buy their own clothes, school stuff and sports needs. Now they have to put $20 of that back. She goes through hers quickly with snacks at all sports events, buying stuff for her friends and buying all these name brand clothes that she’s already outgrowing. My middle is a saver and has $200 still from the last 2 years. She has bought some sports items and some snacks but not many snacks and very little clothing. Hubby won’t give the oldest more because she can’t manage what she gets now. She went to buy one pair of jeans and came home with three shirts instead. Shirts she doesn’t need because she has a closet full of shirts. She refuses to wear my jeans because they aren’t skinny jeans. They fit but she refuses. She hints that I should buy her some and not tell daddy. She thinks maybe a Memorial Day gift haha. She also loans her clothes out, trades them with her friends for a week. She refuses to listen to me and ironed a pair of joggers. Hour sitting holding her while she sobbed and she still refuses to listen on anything lol. Was a good mom and replaced the pants with our money and now she thinks I’ll just buy her stuff again when she wants it. But she hasn’t touched my iron again!
