I went to a class on the Keto diet. The best part is that I'll work with the dietitian who will check in with me and be available to answer my questions. I feel that I have the diet down. I'm concerned about my LDL(bad) and cholestrol numbers, both which are up slightly. My HDL (good) is up which is good and my triglycerides and down, which is good. My doctors gave their consent for me to be on this meal plan and the dietitian has a lot of knowledge about foods and brands. We'll see how this goes. My blood sugars are very good, my weight is coming down and I want to get off cholestrol medication if I can.

My doctor usually thinks that with HDL ut and triglycerides down I am doing very good for my cholesterol. I hope you can get off your meds. Great work on getting into the diet. Good luck!!!!!

@Mysize10, a good article -- "The Ketogenic Diet and Cholesterol" (https://www.ruled.me/the-ketogenic-diet-and-cholesterol/): "A common misconception is that the ketogenic diet increases 'bad' cholesterol levels and clogs your arteries because it is so high in fat. However, much of the recent research shines light on how high-fat, low-carb diets can optimize your cholesterol levels and in fact improve your heart health. [NEW PARAGRAPH] In this article, we will take a closer look at the most up-to-date research on different types of cholesterol, how each one affects our health, and the impact that the keto diet has on our cholesterol levels."

After researching cholesterol-reducing medications, I stopped taking atorvastatin. Keto WOE aside, the most current research indicates that there is no correlation between dietary cholesterol and heart disease. The false association is based on manipulated science, and statins are marketed in the service of that lie.

Excellent! Get advice and coaching, and keto will be easy. I have been eating keto WOE for over a year now, and find it easy and no hardship.
