My usual weekly calories are 10k-11k. This week was over 12k. I ate 300 kcal daily more than usual on average!! No weight gain!! I ate steak, mashed potatoes, fudge, a muffin, orange juice, full calorie Gatorade, candy bars, mints (not logged), an omelette, pizza etc. Lots of ‘unhealthy’ foods in there yet I didn’t gain anything. I’m still right at 120 which is where I should be and want to be. I literally ate just to stuff myself this weekend!! If I wanted it I ate it, hungry or not. I actually planned to eat more but the kids were asleep in the car and they had my snacks back with them 🤦‍♀️. I also had ice cream, a burger, fries etc the last week or so. What type of food doesn’t make most healthy adults fat it’s how much you eat and then only if you really over eat. I should’ve gained 1-2# these last two weeks but I didn’t 😉. It sure was nice to let loose and I think I’ll continue this week. We have dine out nights coming up and nights I’ll have to make something quick and easy (=unhealthy).

Thanks! @ terrapin yes! I assumed I’d have a water gain and maybe 0.4# of fat gain from this week. It’s sure nice to know that I can overeat and be okay. Of course my maintenance should be 1500-1700 depending on activity so in reality I may have only overeaten by about 1000 kcal. Haven’t checked my CO.

Yep, my CO can be fairly off so I can estimate most things and get pretty close. Once in a while, depending on activity, heat, humidity, and time of day I can dump 5-7 pounds. Next day, it is back. I had a burger and some fries yesterday but it was all part of a normal caloric day. No harm. Just fuel. Keep at it, your progress and attitude are great!

Thanks! I find that my water weight can fluctuate a lot too but not like yours. Hubby is 6’ large framed, 270# and his weight can fluctuate like yours. Burgers are a fav at my house! If I could have that many calories I’d have them a couple times a week. But mine run about 500 kcal each or I eat two patties, no bun, for about the same. I get hungry faster without carbs or high amounts of fat. I don’t eat fries at home because I’m lazy and don’t want to make them lol. Wish I could find a ‘healthy’ hamburger place with fries and a burger that’s filling for about 500-700kcal total. Less preferably lol.
