Thanks all for comments. I'm ok.

still been unable to really lift. doing PT for 40 min a day, occasional cardio. my neck just isn't getting better. parenthesias gone, which is an improvement. but my muscle mass is wasting away. my weight is up slightly, but it's worse than a few pounds. I'm just not the person I was without the ability to keep fit. this neck thing has really changed my life. Trying chiropractor next.

Do you know the cause of your paresthesia? I have neuropathy in my feet from the bad kidneys and carpel tunnel in my hands (for more than 20 years now), so I totally get the "pins and needles that turn into pain pretty quickly" thing. I'm sorry you're going through that. I'm not a big fan of Chiropractors, but I hope they help you. Get better soon!

Responding to earlier comment/question. Parasthsias in my case are due to nerve roots being constricted through narrow intervertibral foremen. It's just age, intervertibral disks collapse, vertebra get closer together and the nerves can get crushed. It irritates the nerve, which then causes cramping, pain, weakness and when it's particularly bad....numbness and tingling. The fact that the numbness has gone away is heartening. Now I'm working on the weakness, cramps and pain. All in good time I suppose. Thanks again to everyone who wrote. It really means a lot when you share encouragement. I hope I can do it for you all if there is a time that's appropriate.

I just finished several months of pt to on my neck, he used biofreeze, messaged into the neck muscles, I had sleep with wrong pillow, just so happy my neck pain stiffness pretty much gone!

I have arthritis from my mid back all the way up to the base of my skull. it shows really bad in the xrays. I also have scoliosis and with the arthritis on that the discs between my vertebrae are really bad yet biofreeze doesn't just help the muscles around when they get sore. the nerves get numbed to, cuz with these issues pinched nerves are very common.
