I am really starting to get excited about the scale going down... I know it’s just a number... BUT until I find those NSV I have to rely on this declining number to keep me motivated.

I still haven’t added any exercise to my days ☹️ but soon I will be adding late morning strolls and some at home workouts... once we are settled in more and things are organized at my dads house I plan to use the treadmill...

What’s your favorite at home workout or exercise?

My go tos are:
Squats
Lunges
Planks
Leg lifts
Chair dips
Mountain climbers
Burpees

I like the resistance bands, and yoga

@gigi I will have to add some of that. I have to be really careful with yoga, I have a large ab separation (from having 10lb+ babies and being only 117lbs) so certain positions or activities make the ab muscles “ball” up and it is like a Charlie horse and I am temporarily stuck slouched over until the muscles loosen up 😩 oh the joys!!! 🙄🤦‍♀️

Steal-a-Rep: 1. Add an extra Squat or two every trip to the bathroom, just for a start. 2. Do a simple Plank in the bed immediately after lying down. 3. Suck in your stomach and stand tall while standing at the sink or in line. --------------------------------------- Twenty years ago, my favorite was squats. Now, my knee and ankle doth protest too much. And I don't have extreme rectus abdominus separation, just a small hernia in the navel, but I am familiar with the Charlie Horse in the abdomen you describe. Relatively recent for me, maybe the last two years or so. As you say, certain activities in certain positions. Less contracted positions OK.

Mamamc7, I have had both hips replaced, and right shoulder totally reconstructed. So, I too have to be very careful/ choosy what I do. I sometimes wish my old body could do more, then I remember how grateful I am that it carries me through each day without complaining too much. The exercise s you mentioned, a no go for me. My gym is starting a tai chi class soon. Stoked to get into that.

@gigi I’m terrified of surgery or I’d repair my abs 😩 But I hope you enjoy the class at your gym! I’m contemplating taking kick boxing, since I know the coaches well I could tell them what things I can’t physically do... maybe as a reward to getting closer to my scale goals I will sign up!! @tomlong it’s not a good feeling. The worst is if I sit on the floor and pull on my boots... I found this out while camping after having my second baby 😱 I was stuck curled up on the air mattress for several minutes. I was scared the muscles were stuck like that and I’d need surgery to fix it... but now I know to just relax and breathe through the pain and they will ease up soon.
