Nidoqueen's Journal, 05 Nov 18

So, last Monday I had a tiny little scale loss and I was content but knew it wouldn't last because last Monday was my 29th wedding anniversary. We had plans and they involved food... :-)

I was prepared for my cheat day and by evening, I was good and hungry, when hubs decided instead that we ought to go to the ER because his hernia was hurting (okay, that's being a little mean... he was in massive pain). Anyway, the result was that he required emergency hernia surgery instead of a steak dinner on our anniversary. Wheee. Fun. And hospital food is totally an acceptable substitute for ribeye <extreme sarcasm>.

Now, in addition to NOT getting my reward that I'd worked for (dinner with hubs), I also got a boatload of stress. Then my daughter-in-law's grandfather died. She was raised by her grandparents and her grandmother passed several years ago so this was like losing her last parent. The biggest support I could provide (after asking what I could do for them) was to watch the grandbabies all weekend. That meant a 3-year old and a 9-month old. It was fun, but exhausting! And my bi-polar stepson decided to come off this meds this week and had a total meltdown at MY house...

I sincerely hope that the adage "bad things come in three's" is true because then I'll be done with this disaster of a week. On the upside, I didn't have a lot of time to prepare meals, so rather than blow it by eating convenient, I just skipped it all together some meals. The result was a nice break in my plateau. I'll take it and hope for better days moving forward.

I’m sorry you had to deal with all that! However it’s awesome that you can look and see something positive out of it (the weight loss).

One day at a time...this will pass... I am so sorry that it fell on your anniversary but for me...that seems to be how LIFE happens.

@Judyrose, you know what they say... Life happens while you're making other plans. That is SO true. This too will pass. It may pass like a kidney stone, but it will pass.
