Christina -- I am not on a specific diet. What I am doing is using the internet to find what is a healthy range for fat, protein and carbs. They give it as a percent of your weight so I did the math and wrote down the ranges. For me it is fat 60-69g, protein 65-80 g (max 90) and carbs 210-240 g. It would be different for you as your weight is different. Then I try to keep my calories below 1700 but above 1500. So far it has been working for me as I have been averaging around one pound per week. When I lost 100 pounds 20 years ago, I lost it at a pound a week for two years. It was sustainable and healthy. Every time I have had to attack my weight since then the pound per week has been my expectation.

I wish I could lose weight that way, but I am type 2 diabetic and have to limit carbs. I love keto, it worked well for me to lose weight and it helps me control my BG so that I don't have to go on T2D medications.

@59Carol - would you please post the website for the analysis for ranges to me as a pist? Really interested!

So I went back to the internet to see where I got my numbers. Couldn't find the exact place however found the information with wider ranges. Using the 2010 Dietary Guidelines for Americans it says Carbs are 45-65%, Total Fat is 20-35% and Protein is 10-35%. So you take your daily calorie amount and times it by the percent (so use as a decimal) then for Carbs and Protein you divide by 4 to get the daily grams and for fat you divide by 9 to get the daily grams. In general I try not to exceed the fat grams and am fine if I am lower than the lowest. Protein I try to make sure I am in the 'zone' same with carbs! Hope that helps!!
