Eh my weight is messing with me on these 1+ pound gains and losses daily. Somewhere around 130-132 and I’m doos with that for now :). Ideal:126, range:118-135, next goal:127 by Halloween, 125 by thanksgiving and 123 by Christmas. Maybe 115 by spring break IF I decide to cut that much before I hit the gym hard after the new year. A lot depends on what the dr tells me now and again in 6-8 weeks.

The trend is still downward though. You're doing great. :)

Yep thanks! I’m a numbers person and like to solve problems. Every so often I’ll try to figure this out but not right now. I swear the scale likes to mess with me or my body does! Dr even said today that he had hoped to see more improvement on my love handles and hopes it’s just swelling that he thought would be half way gone by now. (They took the fat from there to transfer around my implants after mastectomy) He thinks he took a pound and put half a pound back in. Told him we could keep going and I could donate to others lol but he’d have to take more at each time. My kids are all ‘why aren’t you smaller if he’s taken 2# from you now?’. They don’t understand that it’s not a huge loss and it all got put back, just somewhere else. Well all but the bad stuff which is 40-60% depending.

And if I was too worried about it I’d drop back to 1200-1300 rather than my current 1500ish. I could double my monthly loss (from 1# to 2#). But 130 is my goal for right now and we have a carnival this week and maybe a lunch date this week. I’ll cut back again after that haha. This Halloween I think I’ll indulge as I pretty much skipped Valentine’s Day, anniversary, Easter, 4th of July etc. Afraid if I keep it up I’ll gorge at thanksgiving! Who am I kidding. I’ll gorge either way. Love me some turkey! And green beans. And potatoes and gravy. And veggie tray. Stuffing, ham, sweet potatoes and dessert will be left to others ;).

Sorry to hear about your health issues. Best of luck on your recovery. I'll be praying for you.

Yeah, I love potatoes and gravy! I work it into my menu every couple of weeks. Just one small potato and 1 or 2 tbls of drippings to make the gravy from. It's sort of expensive calorie-wise, but worth it now and then.

yes you don't need to go to low when you got all that healing to do. I have been overdoing the calories this week too playing around with things. you are on the right path

Aww thanks! Preventative surgery because of brca gene and found cancer. Chemo all done. Reconstruction should be done hopefully if my dr likes the results in a few months. Hair just past my shoulders. Weight coming down. So all in all I’m doing great! (Now he’s talking a mini tummy tuck😳. I think I can deal with two small rolls of extra skin on my stomach unless insurance decides I need it 😉).

I use instant potatoes usually because it seems to be less calorie wise. I also use packaged peppered gravy because I can have like 1/4 cup for like 35-50 calories. Homemade gravy usually turns out to be higher fat and calories than what I like. I work it in monthly. Or I should say hubby does as he finally gets fed up and cooks it on one of his cooking days (weekends when we aren’t running kids everywhere or eating out or have a family thing).

Thanks baskington. I like to play around too. I’m thinking my swelling not going down like he thought is probably because of me playing around with easy workouts and doing housework before today. He would normally tell me that today I could start cleaning and workouts and in 1-2 weeks I could move to 15# then 6-8 weeks from now go to 20#. It’s rainy so I’ve been carrying my 4 yr old through the puddles. Hubby doesn’t think surgery should require more than 2-3 days off so I’ve also been lifting feed, cases of water etc lol. Not complaining tho as I’m not losing much muscle tone or strength like last time. He advised sticking to maintenance and when I said 1200 last time and I’ve been sticking to 1500 he said to go with 1500 or more. I think the 1500 isn’t enough as I’m still losing slowly. It’s not harming me though as he said I was healing nicely just the swelling wasn’t down as he had hoped and my binder seems to have given me red spots. So spanx it is lol. Good thing I bought 3-4 pairs of shapewear last time! And the added benefit of holding everything in and not having the swollen bloated look the binder gives me (or the squareness of my sides).

I'd probably have it every day if I used the instant stuff. But I switched from convenience food to strictly homemade everything over 10 years ago. If I didn't make, I wouldn't eat it - well, unless I was out eating elsewhere I wasn't a whack job over it or anything. I've loosened up a bit since then since my kitchen isn't set up properly any more. I buy bread, snacks, and ice cream now. Looking forward to making everything again, soon.

I go through phases. For awhile it’s all easy and processed then it’ll be mostly homemade everything for awhile. Just 2 weeks ago I made up 8# of chili, 8# tacos/taco soup starter and about 6# of chicken for fajitas, chicken and noodles and chicken noodle soup. Really wanted to bake but I have a weakness for homemade baked goods. My waistline thanked me for skipping baking lol. I draw the line at homemade noodles too! With three kids and two cats I can’t have noodles laying everywhere drying lol. But one day I’d like to try it!

Yeah, cats and noodles, yeah...good idea to wait on that one. :) I'd like to try it some day too. I don't normally eat a lot of pasta - not one of my favorite things, though I have had it more since losing weight because I bought a bunch on konjac noodles. So I've had a lot of spaghetti lately. But it's a lot easier to make all your own food when you don't have the pressures of family pulling you in all directions.
