Very grateful and surprised to see my weight hasn’t increased after my thanksgiving dinner yesterday evening! Still going out on my bike run every morning. Although it can be a hard slog against the wind some days. It’s quite blustery here on the lakefront of Lake Ontario. But, having said that, ever so grateful to live in this lakefront community with nature so close by.

It encourages me to cycle along the waterfront trail and walk the furbabies along same, taking in and enjoying nature every minute I am outside. I look for fisherman every morning and enjoy seeing the sailboats on the lake. I have loved seeing the migration of the monarch butterflies and noisy blue jays. We had a rare sighting of three Brant Geese which migrate from the Arctic to coastal waters for about a week. Not sure why they chose a fresh water lake quite central instead of BC or east coast. We were wondering if they were blown off course when we had high winds several weeks back. We enjoyed seeing them in the park beside the lake as normally we only see the prolific Canada Goose. They have flown on so can only hope they reached their destination.

The trees are late in changing to their full autumn glory this year. Probably owing to the warmer extended summer we have enjoyed.

I am continuing my Fitbit and Carrot challenges with my family. They help keep you motivated even on days you don’t feel like.
