CrashtestDawnie's Journal, 01 Sep 18

So 1 full week at the same weight. I’ve been trying to eat a lill more for the last 2 weeks since I’m lifting weights. I’ve hit 1000 calories on multiple days this week and last week. I don’t think the small amount of muscle building a few days a week is the reason I’m not losing weight. I just think 1000 calories is maintenance. I believed it was 1200 when I worked in logistics (active day) but now that I work in Print services (standing in almost the same spot for at least 6 hours of my 8 hour shift) I’m burning 200+ less calories. This is disappointing 😒😕

Believe me, I am-totally-with-you and I feel I understand what you may be 'thinking' (and feeling). Remember, when I had that 30 day plateau while fasting!? At the time I calculated the calorie difference and, for me, the math simply did not add up (If I am working out and only eating less than 1000 calories a day, I am in a calorie DEFICIT already! - How would cutting more calories be my problem??). For me, the 'truth' was that I could no longer lose weight (fast) on 20 net carbs a day. I had to move down to less than 10 net carbs a day. Now my calories are the highest they heave ever been, yet I now have my fastest weight loss ever. - - However, with all that said, your net carbs are already less than 10 a day and you ARE losing weight fast. I think your current program is working great and that your body is just 'reconfiguring itself'. I just know that I got to thinking that 'maybe the CICO people are right?' when I hit a 'plateau'. Only running my numbers was I able to see that, for my body, insulin produced by carbs is the thing where the math adds up. This is further proved when I gain weight when 'bulking'. I only gain weight when I increase my carbs. - - Anyway, 'you do you' and you will figure out what works for you!

… one more thing. The only part where 'more exercise' plays a factor for me is that it causes me to 'flush out my glycogen' and with that the 'water weight'.

One week isn't that long at all. I would give it more time especially since you started the weight training. Our bodies take time to adjust to stuff. Also, your rate of loss will get slower as you get closer to your goal weight. You are doing super well. Hang in there!

lower calories tend to slow down dropping weight I have found. My body holds on for all its worth when I keep the calories too low. Stick to the higher calories for a while If you are not gaining that is a good thing. Your thanksgiving feast will most likely recharge your system too.

My job is pretty sedentary too, I try to walk or dance during my break and the second 1/2 of my lunch hour.

Frustrating, but keep at it. I just read your bio and I'm so impressed that you've stayed positive and upbeat through everything you've endured. If you can survive as a single mom after a devestating hurricane, you can do anything. You got this. :)

Thanks guys! Sunnie I am extremely fortunate to have been able to move into my parents place. As much as I don’t like it, it’s been a God send. I’ve even payed off 14k in debt!
