Turns out I'm insulin resistant and that's why my weight loss efforts are pointless. doc said to cut out all carbs (banting?) and sugar.
I have so little carbs and sugar already
79.1 kg Lost so far: 9.8 kg.    Still to go: 19.1 kg.    Diet followed: Reasonably Well.
Losing 4.9 kg a Week

Look up Dr Jason Fung & read his blog about IR & fasting, maybe that will help.

At least now you have closure. There is nothing worse than not reaching your goals and not knowing why, especially when you think you are doing everything right. All the best for the road ahead :)

You get carbs in vegetable too not just rice, potatoes etc.

hi, i also had (yes, had) insulin resistance so i completely understand. 20kgs down and the problem is gone. i tried medical weight loss. i've been on HCG injections for the past few months under the Slenderwonder weight loss programme. the injection fluid helps to alter the fat cells in one's body whilst eating a whole foods diet. six months later, i'm healthier than ever and feel happier. no more guilt when eating anything with sugar, though to be honest, i rarely crave sweet things anymore! that being said, i really hope you'll find something that works for you too. where there's a will, there's always a way!

@cheezgal a while ago I tried the hcg drops from happy shrinkers. I'm such a pussy when it comes to the injections. I found that the drops only really helped in the detox phase. After that no weight loss

ah, i'm sorry to hear that. don't stop looking for the cure though! different strokes for different folks. there's a solution out there just waiting for you to find it. 💪

Know the frustration. Was diagnosed 7 weeks ago. Still struggling to not eat “bad” carbs. What does help though is that I get so sick if I do eat bread/buns in the evening, think my meds have something to do with it, that in order not to feel sick, I eat that a lot less. But I still crave sweet things😢😢
