Rambling thoughts amidst a busy mind:

This Banana Boat “streak free” sunless tan lotion is full of it. The back of my leg looks like crazy crayon marks. So much for cheating. I just hope it fades before Mexico. I have a touch of Rosacea and eczema, so I should have known better. It’s not the lotion, it’s me.

I bought this liquid vitamin stuff, it has a pretty picture of fruits and vegetables on the front. It says “refreshing” and “great taste.” I got it home and opened it…and….it’s black. Like the color of squid ink black. It smells like it’s where all of the fruits and vegetables went to die. I tried to shoot a little, gag, and then tasted it for the rest of the day. My husband teased me the next morning, asking if I had taken my vitamins yet. I told him to shut up and threatened to put some in his coffee.

Speaking of the man, he came down with an awful, terrible summer cold. He just sounds awful. I have been sleeping in our oldest daughter’s old room, which we converted to a Death Star game room after she left, to try and avoid getting the cooties. Every time I sleep in there, I wake up around 2:00 am wondering where in the heck I am. I see all the glowing lights and it takes me a couple of minutes to realize I am not on a space ship and I have not been abducted by aliens. It’s not a great night of sleep, to say the least.

The Glenn Miller Orchestra was incredible. We were definitely the youngest couple there. At one point, it almost felt surreal because there were so many walkers around me. I tip my hat to all of them, they truly were and are the greatest generation. I tried to thank my grandfather for serving in WWII, I really wanted him to hear that I do not take my freedom for granted. He told me he just did what he was told to do. If you enjoy reading, I highly recommend Unbroken by Laura Hillenbrand. They made a movie out of it but as usual, the book is infinitely better.

I stopped and picked up some Pho for the sickly husband. I got a huge plate of bbq pork, pushed aside the rice noodles and enjoyed 100% of everything else. There were carrots, peanuts, bean sprouts, lettuce, cilantro, cucumbers, and green onions. I had zero idea how many calories I had just consumed. I did a Studio S workout, felt guilty about eating some pop chips, crossed my fingers and went to bed. I woke up at 122lbs, so I suppose I did ok.

The world keeps spinning and I’m dancing on the blue line.

Sounds like what my hubby would say...and I'd make the same threat, lol! I want to read the book. Saw the movie, but I know the book is always better. Kind of partial to the story of Louie Zamperini since he was saved at one of Billy Graham's crusades. My hubby used to work for Rev. Graham before moving back home from Charlotte to marry me. I'm thinking my hubs got to meet Louie too, before he passed.

As a person with very fair skin who burns more than tans, I like Tan Towels for a good fake tan. I've had really good luck with them not being streaky or too orange. My other favorite splurge is St Tropez Bronzing Mousse. It's pricey but a little goes a long way. I highly recommend buying the applicator mitt with that one or you will end up with orange hands! Have a great time in Mexico :-)

I just used the Loreal sunless tan lotion and it worked well until it started wearing off... in tiny spots. I looked like I had vitiglio for a couple of days. Not the goal.

Sorry to hear of your husbands illness, your tanning concern, and vitamins. I have to admit though I laughed as I read your description of all of these occurring events. You have such a way of making things humorous. Thanks for sharing, and I wish you all better days ahead and fast recovery. It is such a relief to know you weren't actually abducted by aliens though !!! :D A probe is the last thing you need after these events. (haha)

Haha, a probe! Thank you all. I might try the mousse one hcj, thank you. I mostly was trying to even out my runners tan but I may just end up going au natural. I can tan, I just don't like to for the reasons you mentioned Glen.

Funny! It's difficult to apply that stuff, but I get decent results when I use plastic gloves, rub it in a circular motion, let dry, then apply moisturizer also in circles.
