Got the list of foods for the challenge and then my friend said to watch for the high fat content because every over-50 woman that she knows (5 people) had gall bladder issues, so I am modifying the challenge somewhat to be lowfat, low starchy foods, and lots of vegetables. Will get a lot of salad stuff. We'll see.
Gotta do my taxes this week, since somewhere along the line my HR people switched my deductions around and did it wrong so I had a lot taken out that I shouldn't have. I hope I don't get fined for it. Luckily money isn't an issue for me in general but I hate when things cost me money that I didn't need to spend.
My yard is littered with trees because the snow in the other day coated my trees and many of them couldn't handle it. One pic is of how beautiful a snow-coated tree can look. The other is the tree that took out my cable/internet wire.
And my carport got squished. I knew I shoulda taken it down. Thank you to my BFF and her hubby for helping me get my car out!
HAPPY FRIDAY!

I'm 50 and older, have done low carb-high fat for 3-4 years, and have had no gall bladder issues. The first year I went on it and had blood work done, my doctor said that my blood work was "stellar".

Also over 50 and high fat never caused gallbladder troubles for me either. I think if you are prone to GB issues, they appear earlier in life and just trouble you for longer.(at least the gal I know).

No comment on gallbladder don't know enough about it. Your yard looks like a big clean up is ahead. I would love some of those logs and branches once they are cut to do this cool sort of mounded garden called a hugelkulture. I have one big branch still hanging on a tree from the wind.

This is just anecdotal, but my doctor told me that my own gall bladder problems were caused by my pancreas, and the pancreas problems were caused by my blood sugar, which was caused by too many carbohydrates. I think we are in the middle of a revolution in medical thinking, because suddenly, different doctors are giving contradictory advice. She approved the LCHF diet as long as I keep my blood glucose down, which is to say as long as I can stick to it.

I had my gallbladder out on 11th January this year. No idea if fat caused the gallstones, but I used to drink a lot of full fat milk and ate a lot of cream, cheese, butter, etc.
