Just Back from a fantastic vacation to Russia. DH and his team came back with a bronze medal in the 2000 m race in the mixed 10 man masters division (in dragon boating). It was an incredibly exciting event...not quite Olympic caliber but it was an IOC sponsered event and took place on the international level with 19 different countries represented. Apparently, many of the Russian athletes banned from the Olympics were there. Needless to say, the Russians did very well and took the most medals by far. But it was fun.

The rest of the trip was also great. We took a river boat cruise from Moscow to St Petersburg. Both cities are quite beautiful, especially St Petersburg and the people are wonderful. The food and tours were absolutely amazing. The old Soviet Russia is gone and there is definitely a feel of optimism and a new middle class emerging...but not without its economic concerns. It was a very eye opening experience.

Unfortunately I put on about 4 lbs. The hard work will have to resume. Eating 3 full course meals a day for almost 2 weeks did nothing for my weight, but curiously, my % fat went down by 3% to 4% to 35%. My clothes are no tighter, my weight is up and my fat percentage is down. This is somewhat confusing however it may just take a few days to stabilize my numbers once I get back into my usual routine. It's nice to be back.

What a great holiday. Your numbers are interesting. I hate it is so hard to lose and easy to gain. You can do it.
