It's really unfair that it's so easy to gain weight and so hard to loose it! After a wedding last weekend, a family gathering with lots of exceptionally good food, a potluck at work plus a few other indiscretions, I climbed a few pounds. Maybe that's a good thing because hopefully All that food increased my metabolism a bit...enough to help me get below my "stuck" point. I'm not sure but it seems to me that the older I get the harder it becomes to loose weight. I'm continuing to enjoy my paddling workouts. Since resuming paddling in the spring, my resting heart rate has gone down from 84 bpm to 70 bpm. Overall I'm in way better shape, but my weight is being stubborn. Have a good weekend. 🎉

The older we get....I know what you mean. The only thing that seems to be working for me is high fat and only eating once or twice a day - the meals being close together. I still watch the calories though. Yesterday I had a very high fat meal (pork crackles from Winnipeg and fried eggs - probably around 700 calories in one meal.) Then 4 hours later a small piece of lamb and salad. I am always amazed that I can drop a pound after a breakfast like that! We finally have a break in the heat - how are you guys there? It seems like you've had plenty of rain from what I can see on the TV. Have a great day!

Also, finding it more difficult to lose as I age. Great job with the padding and heart rate.

Thanks. I've been skipping breakfast but find I need to eat a bit by noon and again at supper...just trying to eat less. I'm still having trouble with the high fat concept...it makes sense on one level but so contrary to what we've always been taught. I will try to add a bit of fat (vegetable oil dressing) to my low glycemic salads at lunch and see if that helps a bit. There were some sweets leftover from last weeks potluck and I caved in today. I guess I just need to stay out of the lunch room. Lol. It's been rainy...day after day. Hot and muggy.
