I've been hovering around the same weight for awhile now in spite of good effort. I think this must be some pre-set point from the past that my body remembers and wants to stay at. I'm hoping to break through this sometime soon and continue to gain some more traction. Speaking of which, I went to one of my favorite stores (besides Costco...lol) and bought 2 pairs of pants a size smaller...on sale at that. YOOHOO. Also bought a new car today, to replace our 11 year Toyota. Time to celebrate.

Yup - I know what you mean about set point. I think one of the few ways to lower it might be fasting - just to keep the insulin low for an extended period of time and try to retrain your body. I believe this is something I got from Dr. Jason Fung. I have tried a little and I am definitely lower than I've been in about 25 years but still trying to get it down a bit more. Good for you on the new pants and the new car! Yippee for you!

Thanks. Maybe I'll try some fasting this week (known to me as skipping breakfast). I don't think I can do it for more than 24 hrs at a time like some people on this site are doing. I find myself starving by suppertime so for now maybe I'll try 18:6 IF. Hopefully, once I've adapted more to the low carb plan, my body may be better able accept longer periods of IF but not just yet.
