How much water do you drink in a day? I need some tips on how to prevent waking up multiple times during the night to go to the washroom :-( ....without compromising my fluid intake! Please help!!

It depends on when you go to sleep. Try not to drink any fluids at least 2 hours before bed, that should help.

If you're waking up multiple times during the night, that could be related to any meds that are diuretic as a side effect, or a possible UTI, etc... If you're not drinking more than a Gallon of water, and have your last water intake 2hrs prior to bed....yet are still getting up in the middle of the night multiple times, i'd go get it checked out.

I try for 48-64. Yesterday was 80 but I think that's bc I ran out of my grean tea. I drink up until bed with no problems but if I drink grean tea before bed forget it, I'm up once during the night. My hubs commented on it one day and I made sure to stop so close to bed.

I drink at least half my body weight in ounces every day...and maybe a little more on hard workout days. 80-96 ounces every day for me.

As a general rule, do not count Tea or Coffee towards water intake. These contain Caffeine which forces you to expel more Urine. Ideally you should subtract any caffeinated drinks from your daily intake of water. 64oz of water intake and 2 cups of 8oz Coffee leaves you at only 32oz of water for the day.

I have a 74.4 oz bottle I fill up every morning at work. My daily goal is to get through two of them but I usually only make it through one. If I don't have coffee, I can usually get in 2...but I love my coffee so.... ;)

I usually drink 40oz, but need to drink more. I try to stop drinking fluids around 5pm, because if I don't I pay for my fluid intake all night long. UGGGHH

Question: are you on any kind of medications that you take at night? If you are, that could be a contributing factor. I was previously on a blood pressure medicine that had a diuretic in it, and when I first started taking it, I was up at least a couple of times every night having to go to the bathroom. I had *never* had that problem before. I found that by switching my medicine to first thing in the morning, that solved my middle-of-the-night bathroom trips.

I don't eat or drink after 6 pm. I fill up 64 ounces and most days I have it done by 6. If I don't, I don't, and I don't worry about it.
