Thinking, thinking, thinking. I decided that I was thinking too much about counting. So, I threw some stuff in my lunch box this morning without too much counting - did measure out some edamame (blanched soybeans) for snack but that is all. I noticed that people who stay in their calorie count don't actually eat all that much so I think that's part of the problem - I was giving myself too much variety.

Poet-in-motion mentioned that her sister got caught up in that, and so I am trying a simple thing: counting my approximate points. Not writing down every thing, but I have 21 pennies in my pockets, and these represent the number of my points for the day. I have been moving the appropriate number from the right pocket to the left pocket after I eat something. So far, so good. Not going to worry about 100% accuracy, because if I go over by 2 or 3 by the end of the day, then I still have some flex points in case, and then I don't plan to use those so there.

This week has been a very trying week: Trying to get a contractor in, trying to get a counselor to see us, trying to get the insurance guy to fix the car insurance, trying to get my daughter to pack for camp, trying to get the older one to finish painting the garage! Nothing is done.

I do have more blackberries to pick - that is a nice little amusement! Alright, I am off to weigh myself and I will be back to read all your journals for today!

I like the idea of the pennies - actually sounds fun! Picking your own fruit sounds like so much fun. When I was little we used to go strawberry picking - maybe I should take my girls. Its healthy, and fun! Hope you have a great weekend buddy!!!

Cool idea to use those pennies. I guess you could say you are "pinching pennies" then - huh! I used to use a similar strategy as I moved rubberbands from one wrist to the other to count laps at the track - that is - until I kept FORGETTING to move the rubberbands and lost "track." No pun intended! Keeep the faith! Good luck working in the heat!

Blackberry bushes are really easy to grow - they started as weeds at the bottom of the yard and now we have a patch that I shaped so that I don't have to worry too much about thorns. My girls liked to pick them when they were little, and we get about a gallon of berries over the course of two weeks.
