I have been away from this site for a few months and my weight reflects it. I've been a 'yo-yo' in weight & moods but I am determined (again!) to get things straight in my life. I'm not that much upset with my excess weight as I am with how I feel. Yes some clothes don't fit as well and when I put on my bathing suit I do push it out a bit but the way I feel physically& mentally is what is bothering me more now than my 'looks'. I know I 'feel' so much better when I am at a lower number on the scale so I am back and going to try, no that change that I AM GOING to get it done. I would like to at least get down to where I feel better and my larger size clothes don't bind and pull (don't want to go shopping for the next size up!). I hover around 172 now and really need to get that below 160, then go further but NOT go UP! I have a friend that is coming down for a few days the end of the month and I know she will want to go out to eat and I tend on snacking more of the 'no-no' foods (not even REAL foods, just JUNK) when she is here. I want to prepare my body & mind to resist that temptation. It is kind of difficult with her since she is an enabler but lately she does respect my saying 'no, thank you' I just need to be strong and keep that up. I'm going back on an old woe plan that I had that really helps me feel better and is REAL food, one thing I need to kind of watch is the portion control& eating at night. I can't find the diet plan, it was in one of those little books that the grocery store has at check out that had a few diets it in and this one has all foods I like. Basically as I remember it you can have unlimited quantities (I have to watch that though) of; lettuce, celery, cucumber, green peppers (I add red also), scallions, dill pickles, lemon, vinegar, strawberries, cantaloupe, seasonings (no sugar), white fish (like flounder, haddock, cod etc), unsweet fat free yoghurt, fat free cottage cheese. water, unsweet tea, I think that is basically it. Today is day one. I probably won't list the foods in the daily food diary but will stick to those foods. I have to step up my exercise also. With gas prices crazy I'm going to dust off my bicycle. Even though it is super hot here lately I am going to try to get on it at least early morning or evening when the sun is not so hot. AND I'm going to try to get on here at least once a day or 3 times a week depending on if I'm working. That is another thing; I'm a bit bumped because I haven't gotten a part time temp assignment through my agency in over 4 weeks I did have one week work through another agency which helped but that was 2 weeks ago. I'm kind of semi retired (age 68) but I do need some PT work to keep afloat so hopefully one will come through and hopefully I haven't gained too much so I can fit in my work pants!
