Hipaagrammy's Journal, 28 Oct 14

It's Tuesday! Smile!!

Just completed 82 minutes on the exercise bike (21 miles). I'm watching old episodes of "Extreme Weight Loss" which keeps me motivated. GoodMan has to work late tonight so I may just put in another hour later today. Kind of reminds me of when my boys were in football and wrestling and they would have "2-a-days" workouts.

I was planning to try out a new recipe - Quinoa Enchilada Casserole - tonight, but now that I found out GoodMan is working late (eating pepperoni pizza and bread sticks) I haven't decided if I'll still make it just for me, or wait until an evening when he'll be home. I'm a planner...it's hard for me to switch gears once I've got a plan. I'm working on learning to "go with the flow"...just a concern about how that may affect the healthy eating portion of my lifestyle change. Oh, who knows? Maybe I'll finish off some leftovers or make some fish.

Awoke early (not DK early) this morning to what sounded to me like a herd of little mice feet scampering across my ceiling/roof in my bedroom. I was still for a few minutes wondering if it was the sound of rain...as I became more fully awake it sounded like flapping...OH NOOOO...A BAT! Yep, we had a bat in our bedroom. Now let me say this first...I appreciate the work bats do to hold down the insect population...OUTSIDE! Anyway, I put my shoes and jacket on and stepped out on the deck, clapping my hands over and over (until I think I broke a blood vessel) while GoodMan waved a towel at him every time he landed. After about 5 minutes he "heard" the sound of my clapping and went out the sliding door. THANK YOU LORD! But by now I was awake and just decided to get an early start on laundry.

Make your Tuesday tremendous!

I always keep individual cooked portions of chicken in the freezer. This way when DH is working late, I defrost and make a vegetable or salad. Super easy and keeps me on track.

I'm in stitches with laughter. You do write the most vivid journals.. I hope you didn't do your hands any lasting injury... Well done with the workouts.. :-)

We have more and more in common as I read your journals and kind comments on mine! I'm a planner too, and also trying to learn to be more spontaneous. And, I, too as can only handle so much socializing, while my DH can party all night... think we could send our men off together! I love how you're finding ways to stay motivated and exercise at the same time, even with your limitations -- good for you... and all of us too who you are motivating right along with you! xoxox

WOW!! lots of bike riding!! Bats are not nice in the house!! I want to build some little bat houses for my yard after doing a cave tour with the kids in July. I do see them often on summer nights fliting about, they need to stay outside. I also plan but end up with sidetracked plans often.

Thanks for your support ladies! I ended up going out to get my nails done and I picked up a lovely fillet of rainbow trout and some spinach salad for dinner. I'll try out my new recipe some other night. Ellyn54 ~ that sounds like me. I usually have something in the house I can fix. Today was unusual for me. Princess ~ No lasting damage to my hand, it just feels bruised. Thanks for the journal comments. I sometimes wonder if I am one of those TMI journalers. Ruhu ~ I agree, you and I do seem to have a lot in common. I'd send our men off together, but then you and I would probably stress that they'd be gone longer than we like! Wholefoodnut ~ well, just thanks! I appreciate that you read my journal - there's not always a lot of FS stuff on it, but I like that you can support that.

Instantcrazy- I found the recipe on Pinterest. It was from a site called "Damn Delicious". I haven't tried it yet, but the reviews were very good. Let me know if you have any trouble finding it.

Mmm sounds interesting, my problem is that they always want my email. I don't need mere junk mail... can you get there without an email address?

Wholefoodnut - it's a food blog. You don't need to give your email. The address for the blog is damndelicious(dot)net. Once there just put the name of the recipe in her search engine. You could also just google the title of the recipe + damn delicious.
