Quiet Sunday. Went to early service at church, then home. I took a nap early, then DIL#5 came over and brought Grandkids #9 & #13 to ride go-carts, and swim. GoodMan and the boys are in the pool right now. The littlest one keeps trying to push the boundaries and GoodMan is having to be the bad guy...(Little guy wants to jump in the deep end without a life vest. The rule at our pool is you have to show us you can swim the width of the pool without a vest before you can be in the deep end without a vest - even with an adult in the pool.)

We are continuing the fight with woodland creatures...caught one mouse in a trap and one baby in a paper bag. The snap-traps seem the most humane way of getting rid of the critters...what to do with the babies? DIL#5 took the baby we caught today way out into the woods and let him go...but that doesn't seem very humane either. I don't want to be torturous...but I don't want to SHARE my home either.

As far as my lifestyle change goes, I still feel good about it. For dinner I made fish for me and GoodMan and breaded chicken breasts for the boys. I am going to have enough leftovers for a couple of meals...I need to get used to cooking for smaller numbers again. I still want to ride my exercise bike tonight. I'll have to see how long the grandkids stay. It is a challenge to get started on exercise and be interrupted every few minutes.

I hope all my FS buddies had a blessed weekend.

Quiet here, too! Went to Bible Study and then Service in the a.m. Trying to find some inexpensive recipes for desserts I have to take to church on Wednesday to go with meals, on Saturday to take to church to go with Subway sandwiches, and then a dessert to go with Mexican Taco Salad for Tuesday for the Christian Women's Job Corps (CWJC). Any suggestions???? Every day of mine is blessed as I always walk with the Lord! He is so good to me! Your grandchildren are such a blessing! Enjoy them always!

Hmmm...I can't think of anything healthy, but I make some other desserts for gatherings. My gang loves peanut butter sheet cake, and I have a recipe for sugar cookie bars that taste like those soft Lofthouse frosted sugar cookies. I also make a sheet of frosted brownies that go over well. Sometimes I make a large batch of chocolate chip cookies and spread them in a sheet pan - we call those blondies. I have a recipe for cherry coffee cake bars that is made in a sheet pan also...lol...I just realized most of my "tried and true" recipes make big batches, but that's because when all of my family gets together for family dinners there are 26 of us!...oh yes, and one other fall dessert is baked pumpkin donut holes.
