When should you weight yourself? Everyday? Once a week? I want to make sure I do it properly not to get discouraged.

I don’t weigh myself every day but close to it, it keeps me motivated. I always weigh myself as soon as I get up, after I go to the bathroom but before I eat or drink anything. Always in the buff and never move the scale so it’s a consistent reading every time and no variables to use as excuses. I don’t know if that’s “right” but it makes sense to me and works for me!

I hit the scale once every 4 or 5 days, some do everyday first thing in the morning, that's a great routine to get into. The scale is just a number, it does matter but how you are feeling is what matters most.

I pretty much weigh myself every day, but after a few years on this app, and some wins/loses over that time, I’ve learned - the downs are sometimes lower than the reality... as are the ups.. so I weigh daily but take changes with a grain of salt. The long haul, week to week, is what matters.

i weigh myself every monday morning. i find that if i do it everyday i become obsessed with it.

I weight every day but for some it’s better to do once a week, depending on how you feel about it, because the daily ups and downs can be frustrating

I usually weigh in every few days. I find if I weigh in at 6:30 am when I am up for work the number changes if I do it again at say 11 am... its usually lower later in the morning! Not sure why though

Weigh once a week on a set date on a set time. Your weight can fluctuate up to 7 pounds during the day. I recommend weighting yourself as soon as you wake up and go the bathroom, that will be your most accurate weight. If you’re looking for extreme weight loss try to aim for 2 pounds a week, while average weight loss should be closer to 1 pound a week.

I do the weigh in every morning, others find once a week works, it depends on how you want to track your progress.

I do the every other day before lunch. However often you do, try to be consistent with timing, as others have said it fluctuates during the day so always try for the same time of day for a fair reflection of your progress. That’s what works for me!

My mom told me to do it everyday first thing in the morning when u wake up and weigh yourself with no clothes on

I'm a once a week guy, as it will generally show the one pound loss I'm aiming for (if I manage to hit target of 500 calories or so below activity daily).

so many fluctuations with daily weight it can be discouraging...once a week max. how clothes fit is a great way to guage progress, imo. Best wishes!! 👍

there is no right or wrong way to weigh yourself. if you find doing it every day keeps you motivated because your held accountable each morning or if you get discouraged easily do it a few times a week or just once. I need to do it every day or I stop counting my calories and loose interest by the end of the week

weighing yourself. Whether you do it once a week or three times or daily. weigh yourself in the AM and on the same days and compare the same days with each other from week to week. You'll find most people have a weight fluctuation rhythm that is fairly consistent. meaning, each week you'll have a high point and a low point. Also keep in mind your hormones... the entire rhythm gets messed up once a month. Don't get discouraged! consistency is the key.

I weigh myself daily, first thing in the morning. key is to focus on long-term trend though, not daily. could weigh less often, but I appreciate understanding how things can fluctuate

Once a week or I get crazy...some days you are up for no reason and its discouraging.

whenever u feel strong and focused u should do it. don't do it when u feel down and therefore get discouraged. even if u lost like 5 pounds u will kick yourself for not losing 10.
