egdw's Journal, 27 Feb 14

What a great day! Whale watching, hiking along the rugged coastal shore and watching the endangered albatross' doing their ritualistic mating dance. Didn't know the day would turn out so well. Hiked for almost 2 1/2 hours and burned off a good number of calories. Tired but worth every minute of it. Not to mention its -35 or some outrageously cold temperature back home that we are fortunate to be missing. I'm managing to keep my calorie count well within where I need it to be on most days. Some days of course are harder, especially when eating out a lot. I actually prefer to eat in where I can control things better. And my husband is keeping me very active so all in all, I think I'm maintaining my weight. Not sure if I'm loosing, but I won't be able to tell until I'm home again and measure on my own scale. Life is good and it's so important to make each moment count.

Thanks TX! I'm actually recording a day ahead of time so today's journal was really yesterday's. Today we hiked a total of 4 1/2 hrs up then down this amazing ridge that gave us a breathtaking view of Honolulu and surrounding area. Must have burned a few lbs. I had this amazing image of fat melting right off. My husband and I had a good chuckle. He was wonderfully patient with me because I thought at a few points they might actually have to heli-lift me out of there but I survived it intact. WOW. Talk about "Fight for Air"! A few times up and down that ridge and you'd be in great shape to do that challenge. Have a good day!

So great that you are having a wonderful time! Enjoy to the fullest. I hear we will have as low as -40's-50's over the next few days. You are not missing anything here. Perhaps you might decide just to stay LOL - I know I would. ENJOY!
