Getting out for a little today.Gotta get more bp meds.My doc lied.He said if I quit smoking I could get off my meds.I check bp regularly and it hasn't improved much.

2 cups of coffee.Water. 1 over easy egg, 1 piece bacon, apple, grapes. Lunch will be the same spectacular salad. Later on this sunny Friday!

Maybe it's a combo of not smoking and weight loss. Doctor might not have lied on purpose maybe he/she really believed it!

Yeah, unfortunately health care providers speak in generalities. Many people do experience a significant drop in their blood pressure after quitting smoking. My husband had that result. But, non-smoker's deal with blood pressure issues, too. Even when they exercise and maintain a healthy weight. Genetics play a HUGE role. I hope there is just a delay for you in the downward trend of your blood pressure. Keep some hope! In the meantime, the b/p meds are a necessity, obviously. You don't want to increase your risk for stroke or heart attack.

You didn't just develop high blood pressure overnight - so you might just see some improvement with time. In any case - Congratulations on quitting smoking. That is huge!!!
