I appear to be so stuck. I don't want to admit defeat. How do I get back in control? I have great intentions but am not sticking to my guns and don't seem to know how, be able to, get back on the bus. Feel stuck in the quick sand with no apparent help on the way. Sinking feeling not helping my anxiety and success. What am I going to do differently to get different results? I see myself as a professional problem solver but don't seem to be able to solve this problem. Do I surrender? Just live day to day with no plans, no direction? I want to act freely. Am tired of defeat day to day.

I'm sorry its been so hard Ruthe! I find it helpful to identity what is triggering me then try to eliminate those things or build some kind of parameter around it. For example I used to always snack when watching tv. It was always sugary things. At first I allowed myself a small portion of one thing. But I also would have a 100-200 cal snack every 2 hours in the time frame when i was weakest. That was enough to keep me from binging. But now I eat a Greek yogurt with 15g of protein or cottage cheese and that keeps me satisfied. I have a hard time hearing about people fasting or doing keto for years without alot of success. I feel that just can't be good for a body. I would think it would deprive of nutrients and cause the body to have all kinds of trouble in the long term. I don't want to discourage you from doing it and I know you feel carbs ate a trigger but denying yourself can cause you to go the other direction and binge. I feel like finding balance is healing to your body and mind. Maybe you just need more social interaction and support. These are tough times. If I were you I'd try to start by setting a couple of smaller goals and feel better by the success you'll get from them. But nothing so severe or harsh that you give up.Be gentle with yourself and accept yourself whetevyou are right now.

Sorry to hear that you are struggling, Ruth. Believe me, I've BEEN THERE. Whatever you do, don't let being off track last for over a year like I did! Of course, when I was there, I didn't know how to get OUT of that place, and for most of the time, I didn't even care. If it's any consolation, I think it is God who gives us the "want to." "For it is God that worketh in you both to WILL and to do of His good pleasure." Just keep praying and asking Him to give you the strength and determination you need to make the changes that need to occur. "We shall reap in due time if we faint not." Just hang in there, sister!
