i have been trying a completely vegetarian diet since last saturday also excluding dairy and eggs. it isn't as bad as i thought it would be and i actually feel really great albeit a tad bit hungry just getting used to a new diet. i am definitely going to keep up the vegetarian diet but i think i will add back in a little dairy and more specifically cheese in. i may be getting a new job that is on the road so i think a vegetarian diet is more manageable for me than no animal products at all especially since this is a new change for me. meat does taste good i'm not gonna lie but it grosses me out and makes me sad. i heard a pig get killed while i was on vacation in the philippines and it makes me too sad to eat pork. i have eaten it a few times since that incident but ew, i am over it now.

i watched the movie earthlings and forks over knives over the weekend and it's having a pretty big effect on me. i believe that if you eat something that was treated badly and didn't have a good life that has got to get into your own system, too. so i'm done with meat, at least for now. i care to never eat anything that went through a factory farm ever again. gross! i want to get some books on these subjects and start to learn more about diet, nutrition and human history with food.

i lost 4 lb last week. whooooo hoooo! and i feel great! i have been at this about a month now really steady except for a few days over the holidays and it's starting to feel like a real change instead of a chore. i love using FS to track my calories and see what i can eat to stay within my calorie goal. i have also been exercising pretty regularly but i would like to improve on that, too. i skipped working out this morning cause i was a little sore from working out last night but that's ok cause i know i can go tomorrow or later today. each day is improving and i feel really good. i did a non official weigh in yesterday and was down another 2 lb so i am right on track for my goal of 2lb/wk. we can all do this!

The vegetarian diet with butter, eggs, cheese, and milk is a lot more manageable than the pure vegan. I know exactly what you mean about the pig. I once saw an uncle of mine chase a pig around in the rain at my grandfathers ranch. He finally was able to grab it and stab it in the neck with a knife. I never forgot that and will spare you any additional details. Apologies for going that far but your experience brought back the memory. The chart looks great, keep up the excellent work hollywoodoregon!
